Looking for a romantic weekend get away? Our Dream View Lake House boasts a one of a kind view of Shasta Lake in Northern California with amenities to fulfill every need. Sitting atop 140 acres of private land sits an oasis with abundant indoor/outdoor space and a built in hot tub overlooking Shasta Lake. Relaxation is limitless.

Please inquire about romantic packages as do house staging with chocolate, food or decoration. Be sure to talk to Lori about booking any additional services! We love being able to offer resort amenities.

We are located just a few minutes off of the I-5 freeway that spans California north to south. Isolated away from big cities Dream View is a perfect location to get away from it all . Relax and unwind without the noise pollution of the cities and enjoy the beautiful starlight from our amazing hot tub . There are private hiking trails, lake access and 30,000 acres of national forest right in your back yard.

We have WIFI through Shasta Beam! Some of the fastest speeds you can get on the lake so you can stay connected with work, school or watching movies while you come and enjoy our beautiful home!

Our guests health and safety is paramount at our Lake View Dream Home Location. We are following American Hotel & Lodging Association guidelines for cleaning between guests. These include cleaning surfaces used by guests with disinfectants, changing all linens, regular changing of air filtration and remote check in and out. We have a dedicated cleaning staff with over 8 years of experience just with our homes and will be taking extra steps to keep our private intimate home sanitized.

Don't forget to ask about one of the many resort style amenities we offer such as home cooked meals, grocery delivery service, staging the home with food, decoration and much more.


For Security and Safety There are 2 ring cameras . 1 Faces the front porch the 2nd faces the side driveway. They record 24/7.


We are very dog friendly, as long as the owner is contacted and dog is pre-approved . There is a $175. Pet fee per dog.

Beautiful location
The property was gorgeous and the view from the deck was breathtaking. Living near a major city with all the light pollution that comes with it, I don't get to see the stars much. I loved laying out on the deck at night, looking at the shooting stars and the Milky Way. The beds were comfortable and the rain shower was a great way to wake up. The only complaint is the book full of rules that wasn't mentioned in the listing. There were a lot of rules.

Beautiful property and amazing view!
Absolutely lovely property with amazing views from both decks. A wonderful way to spend a quiet weekend with a couple of friends. Property is clean and owners have thought of everything you might need in the kitchen down to ZipLock baggies. The only negative was the TV downstairs did not work during our entire stay and when I contacted the owners, they were unable to get someone to look at it while we were there. Not a huge deal, but it was a bummer. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our long weekend away. Thinking of making it an annual occurrence. Thank you!

Wow! my wife and I spent our 37th Anniversary at this amazing house that has one of the most spectacular views of lake Shasta, on top of that it is in a secluded area we’re you hear no one and no one can hear you! Ken was more than a gracious host he answered all questions and had one of the most amazing book collection I seen in a long time. My wife took a picture of most of them to add to our collection. If you want the most amazing time to relax unwind sharpen your axe this is truly a Dream House!

Spectacular views and location
Overall, we loved this dog-friendly property and our 7-day stay and would definitely return. The owner was gregarious, communicative, and informative regarding the history of the vast property (book the venue to be similarly informed). The owner called and texted a number of times to follow up during and near the conclusion of our stay. The 180-degree views of the mountains and Lake Shasta were beyond our expectations. Acorn Woodpeckers, Steller's Jays, Columbian Black-tailed Deer including juveniles, and Western Gray Squirrels were each almost daily visitors. Nearby marvels included first snows at Mount Shasta and Lassen Peak. Our friends and family members marveled at our photo posts. The recovering burn scar at the Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreational Area was spellbinding with recovering flora and fauna. Osprey nests were abundant, and we sighted several Turkey Vultures and Osprey. We enjoyed adult beverages on both decks and/or in the jacuzzi every evening at the rental. The one and only downside was that neither the washer nor the dryer were functional and there were no alternatives. Since we had only packed for 7 days on our 14-day vacation, we had to hope against hope that our subsequent 7-day stay had an operational washer and dryer.

Views for days!
The view in the pictures is exactly what you get - awe inspiring! The double deck with glass was perfect for us and our dogs. Lots of welcome notes, candy, treats for our dogs were there to welcome us. Two story setup was perfect for staying with a group. I don't think I fully understand the set up downstairs, as it's two beds in one room and another room within that room with another bed - everyone shares one bathroom. It just means people in the outside two beds have to share a room, no privacy. Great for people who bring kids, a little awkward for adult couples. We really enjoyed our time here. Spacious living room, super quiet location, hot tub, pool table - awesome. We hope to be able to come back in the summer when we can enjoy the lake. Ken checked in daily, to see if we needed anything. Great host, amazing house, highly recommend. **

My First impression: “Wow! What a view” My wife’s first impression: “this place is so clean … they have everything we want to cook and live” …We love it here …feels like home…a relaxing home with a great view… Ken is a great communicator…wonderful service …perfect experience…we were thinking of planning to stay in Ritz Tahoe for our next winter trip but probably we will change it and will come back here again…

Unsafe, please don't go
The property is fairly remote on a mountainside. We experienced a snowstorm that cut the power. This would normally be fine, and isn't unexpected for a winter in Shasta, but the owners neglected to install a fireplace, stove, generator, backup kerosene heater, or any other auxiliary heat source. There weren't even matches or lighters in case of a true emergency. We explained the power outage situation to the owner and were simply told to vacate the premises. The road is not maintained by the city, so on our way out we were driving over 4-5 inches of snow. We had to drag a bunch of downed trees out of the way to escape the mountainside. Luckily they were small enough for two people to move because the owner didn't store an axe or chainsaw, either. Things could have gone really, really badly. This property is irresponsibly equipped and should not be rented out in the winter. The owners expressed no concern, offers to help, or refund.

My wife and I spent a weekend here for an anniversary getaway. Very peaceful, it was especially relaxing hanging out in the hot tub on the deck with beautiful views. If we were to return to this area, we would stay here again.

AMAZING VIEW and outdoor amenities
The view from pretty much anywhere on the property is so breathtaking it feels almost unnatural. The house is very clean and very well taken care of by the owner. The kitchen is stocked and well equipped for cooking. We really enjoyed our short stay. My problem with the description of the property is that the house has 2 actual bedrooms. The supposed 3rd bedroom is a common space on the first floor that was converted to look like a bedroom. The room doesn't have a door to the upper floor and is the only way to get into the second bedroom . We rented it for just our tiny family of 3 + 2 grandparents so the space worked for us. It won't work for anything more so people should be made aware . The bedding provided felt very old and insufficient for the luxury level of the property this is.

This place is as advertised. Great location and well appointed. The downstairs beds are very firm, which wasn't that comfortable for our group, but we were tired from the lake so it was fine-lol. The best feature of this property is the responsive owner/manager. They are really on top of it! Would go back for sure.

Amazing View and fun family games
You never get tired of staring at the beautiful view of the lake, hills, and forest. Home has a lot of games to play like corn hole, foos ball, and pool table. Home has everything you need. Great vacation home for teens and adults. My two large dogs loved the daily hikes and swimming in the lake. Couple of things to know if you bring your dog. There is no place to play ball or frisbee with your dog at the house. The designated place for your 4 legged baby to go is open and right below the pave road where cars and UPS trucks go up and down. For being on 140 acre private forest there really is no hiking trails next to the house due to the pave road being narrow and used by cars to get to other homes that are on the private road. To be safe you are driving to the hiking trails. Friends and other family love the pictures and memories we share that they are looking at reserving the house.

Owner answers questions quickly and helped whenever asked. The view can't be duplicated. Abundant supplies for the house... toilet paper, paper towels, tin foil, zip locks, etc. Clean and open. One bedroom downstairs is totally open and you can hear everything. So early morning talking must happen outside... and with the view it's not a bad deal😁

A great time at Lake Shasta
We (2 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs) stayed at this house for 6 weeks. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again. The location is phenomenal. The pictures do not do the view justice. There were no surprises with the house, it came as advertised. It is well equipped and comes with amenities not usually provided (pool table, foosball and hot tub). You can walk to the lake from the house (approximately 1.5 miles). The lake however, is not really accessible from the shore (steep slopes and it gets deep quickly). That said, we spent a great weekend houseboating. The marina is only a few miles from the house. In addition to the lake and if you like the outdoors, there are lots of other options in the area. National Parks, State Parks and recreational areas are a short drive from the house. Finally, the owner, Ken, was great. He was helpful, attentive and genuinely interested in ensuring we enjoyed our stay in his house. We had a great time and have no reservations recommending this house.

Gorgeous view, fun house for families with school-aged children
We stayed over spring break for some downtime as a family and had a wonderful time. We used the trip to get the kids offline and away from screens. It was the perfect location to do that as it kept them fully occupied--even while the high-speed WiFi allowed us to work when necessary. The view is even better than the pictures reveal. We lucked out with perfect weather and spent so much time out on the deck. My kids (ages 9-13) were the perfect age for the property. They played pool, corn hole, foosball, and enjoyed the hot tub. The property might be tough for younger families or older adults--the interior stairs are steep and slippery. The kitchen was stocked well and there are plenty of places to relax and enjoy the view--either inside or out. We appreciated that there were dumbbells on the deck and were able to work out overlooking the lake. As others have noted, the third bedroom is an open area without privacy or sound protection from the rest of the house (you must walk through this area to get to the second bedroom and to access the downstairs bathroom). This worked fine for our family, but it might be tough for other travelers. It is just a short drive to the Holiday Harbor marina on Shasta, and we took advantage--renting a boat for a few days. The lake is one of the most beautiful in California. The house is close enough to come back and forth for lunch and rest breaks. The house is also close to hiking trails. Due to COVID, we didn't explore much of the surrounding communities, but loved the house as a much-needed retreat and opportunity to enjoy a slower pace.

Internet in the woods!
First off, I'd like to bring up the fact that there was high speed internet at the home which was a huge life saver. I had a work emergency and was able to deal with it quickly and get right back to enjoying my vacation. The view was incredible and Ken was an amazing host as usual. I will be back!

Beautiful and serene
We stayed here during our winter break, and it was everything we had hoped for. The view was incredibly beautiful and we looked forward to seeing it every day. There were plenty of trail options close by for hikes with our dogs. The house itself was clean and well-appointed. We were surprised to find a new dishwasher and stove, which we weren't expecting from the pictures we saw. It made cooking and staying in easy. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub and playing pool. There were many more activity options on the property that we didn't have the time to explore. What a perfect little getaway!
