Perfect place for summer vacation

Olga and her family were lovely guests who left the place clean and tidy. It is good to hear they enjoyed the private beach and fort setting. We would be happy to host them again. Thank you for being such good guests.

A stay in Grand Bend has become a family tradition. We normally stay at colonial hotel, but decided to rent a cozy cottage with a private beach. The home was clean however it had a strong musky smell that took a moment to get used to. The owners live on site. Not easy to get a hold of. There was no warm welcome. From the moment we spoke it was a discussion of one rule after another. We did not feel at ease, and always worried we were going to do something wrong. The air conditioning was turned off at night. We were extremely hot. No access to thermostat so we were unable to adjust the temp. I called after the first evening and spoke with the wife who was going to pass the message along. We had to open the windows in the evening as the air was never turned back on. There is a private access to the beach, but there is no where to sit, it’s rocky. There is a stairwell that allows you walk straight into the lake. You will have to drive to main beaches.
Overall we had a great time as a family. We did not feel at ease. The property owners are meticulous which I appreciate very much, however their emphasis on not leaving lights on, making sure there is not much garbage, no sand in the washer.. we are very respectful, we aren’t abusive of others property. But we are on holidays on the beach, sand is unavoidable and garbage is inevitable. Late evenings around the fire with laughs is bound to happen
Overall it would have been a comfortable stay if we felt welcomed.

Family vacation

Location is great, felt like champing with the comfort of your own place. Location is great, enjoyed the nature and private beaches.

Jeff and his family were the most amazing guests. They left the place immaculate, were always pleasant to talk to and respectful of the facilities Their kids were the best behaved aand polite youngsters we have ever encountered, Everything we had to offer in our Forest by the beach location was properly used and appreciated. One could not wish for better guests, they made hosting a real pleasure and we look forward to having them back sooner rather than later.

Thanks Jimmy, I’m glad you and your group enjoyed your stay and the closeness of the Beach.
It would have been good to know that you had problems with the Internet as it is Fibe and actually Hi Speed as all our guests have also commented. If we had known we could have perhaps done some troubleshooting for you.
The accommodations are for up to 6 people with 1 King Bed, 1 Queen Bed and 1 Full Double as well as the Queen Size Sofa Bed. That has always worked well and it often is used nicely by groups of 6 as the 1100 sqft space is able to fit them in comfortably.

Great Location - so close to the beach!

Hosts were helpful and very responsive with questions.
Having a young family - the washer/dryer saved us a few times. I was able to make all the tools in the kitchen work for all of our meals.
Overall, our stay was relaxing and what we were looking for. The highlight was being surrounded by the trees and so close to the beach. We stay at a different rental every year in Southcott Pines and this is the closet we have been to the beach!

Ashley and her family were very welcome guests who made the most of their stay at Sandy Pines. They made good use of the closeness of our Private Beaches and left the the Cottage well cleaned and tidied. It is a pleasure to host such a family who are an amazingly pleasant couple with well behaved kids who were also a delight to stay with us. We look forward to hosting them for a longer stay to fully enjoy everything our environment has to offer.

Our stay at Sandy’s cottage was absolutely magical,Sandy was very accommodating and a pleasure to speak with him! I’ll have to say by the end of the trip I really didn’t want to go home! Overall I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Hope to return again next summer.Thank you

Great time in Canada

As Americans we typically go south for family vacations, but this year we wanted to try something new. We are so glad we did - the location was very convenient - we rode our bikes everywhere! The beaches and lake adjacent to the neighborhood were beautiful and not terribly crowded. The property itself was very clean and exactly as advertised. Sandy, the host, was wonderful as well. He welcomed us as we arrived and we saw him a few times during the week too; he was always very friendly and kind. Would definately recommend and have told all of our family and friends about our Canadian experience.

We have been fortunate enough to have had some great guests stay with us but you and your family were absolutely picture perfect and amazing in every way. I can truly say you outdid yourselves as guests and no one could wish for better visitors. In fact you could be Good Will Ambassadors for your Home State of Ohio. You were the most outgoing, friendly couple we have ever encountered and your boys were also amazingly well behaved. Everything you did while you were here was done with the greatest care and respect as if it was your own home. The Suite was left immaculately tidied up with the bed linens stripped and folded neatly. It was such a joy to be hosts to as marvellous a family as this. We only hope that you can return for another visit.

Grand Bend Vacation

The accommodation was lovely. The beds where very comfortable with lots of pillows. The living area was small but comfortable.
The kitchen was set up to make family meals, which we did often. I would suggest a baking sheet or baking pan be added to the kitchen. We found we needed something so we could cook in the oven.
Having the private beach was a special treat. We were able to enjoy the beach on the weekend without having to endure the crowds at the public beaches. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Thank You Ingrid for such a positive review; it was absolutely our pleasure to host you and your lovely family. Your group was always so courteous and respectful of the property and that was whether you were at the Fire pit or using the access to our Private Beaches... I am very happy that we made the exception to accommodate your need and expanded our restriction of the 6 guests limit, it is always our goal to make our 1100 sqft Suite a comfortable home for our guests; we are happy it turned out to be a success, seeing such a warm family get together with two sets of grandparents, parent and kids.🙂
We appreciate the tip of adding an extra baking sheet to our current Pizza Pan inventory, it is always good to have the smell of good baking in the house and the baking sheet will be there whenever you can return. We will be absolutely delighted to be hosting you again

A great stay at a great location

As this is a private community we were able to use their quiet private beaches and enjoy the stunning neighbourhood. A very short drive to Main Street and all its excitement. Our thanks to Sandy for his excellent service.

Kristopher and his family were an absolute delight to host. They made good use of the beach and our whole Pine Forest environment. It is great to hear that the Groundfloor Walkout Apartment with its 9’ ceiling in the Kitchen and Great Room provided them the bright, airy feeling we were aiming for as it also conveniently leads to the Patio and is close to the Fire Pit. They left the place tidy and neat. Kristopher is great to communicate with, which always makes hosting so much more rewarding. We couldn’t wish for better guests. We are looking forward to hosting them again whenever the opportunity presents itself as there is still so much more to explore out here.
