Something for Everyone
Publié le 8 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe home, property grounds and amenities were perfect for our fall family vacation. We were blessed with fishing fortune (caught crabs, drums, spot, perch, trout) which kept EVERYONE on the docks for hours, The water was calm so several enjoyed kayaks, boards and beach. Pool and hot tub were convenient and in good shape!
There were plenty of beds for the family and spaces (screened porch, deck, pool room) to spread out.
We were pleasantly surprised and look forward to returning again to enjoy the peace and fun. Thank you!

Great time at the Rivah!
Publié le 3 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed this lovely house for a family weekend. Grandparents, parents, teenage kids, and little kids. House was great fit for all - beach, pool, dock, great fishing, etc. We definitely look to stay here again!

Clean and Relaxing
Publié le 20 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThe house is even more lovely in person, the neighborhood is quiet. Great communication with the owners. My three teens had fun together and my husband and I were even able to go sit and listen to the waves by ourselves.

Idyllic holiday weekend
Publié le 29 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayLoved the house, setting and experience. Cindy was easy to work with and the house was as shown in the pictures.
Lots to do for tweens and adults: the pool with its toys kept them busy for hours, and the pier/sandy beach were fantastic for birdwatching over morning coffees. The kayaks were a welcome way to tour around the area, and there were so many other things to do, we didn’t get to half of them!
The nearby marina (5 min walk) has food and live music on some nights - it’s worth checking out for those nights when you want to see other people.
Our only “complaint” was that there wasn’t enough time to do everything! Thank you!

Amazing Trip

The fishing pier was a game changer for our family of fisherman and the kayaks were so much fun to use. This house has officially set the bar for our big family for all future trips. Thanks for letting us stay in your wonderful home!

Relaxing stay
Publié le 29 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had a great vacation here! The house is very pretty and we had lots of fun hanging out at the pool, paddle boarding, kayaking and crabbing off the dock. No luck fishing😞. We were definitely not bored on the property. Supplies and cookware were very well stocked! The house is fairly clean, but don’t look under the beds. As stated in the description of the house the nearest trash site was about 15 to 20 mins away. It does take away from the relaxation as we had to make a few trips just for trash. The only other issue we had was the Wi-Fi. After reading other reviews, I can see we were not the only ones. We understand that there’s only so much that can be done and Cindy did her best to help. Even using a hotspot, it was very sporadic and probably shouldn’t be advertised as having Wi-Fi. However, we would definitely stay here again.

Not all it seems
Publié le 25 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis trip went from good to bad to ugly fast. The very first thing that we realized immediately was there was no WI-FI. The listing says there is WFFI. We notified the owner right away and it was suggested that we use a hot spot, yet that was not possible so we had to drive places to make a call or use the internet. We had adults that were taking a working vacation and this made things very stressful for them. The grill was full of grease and debris and caught fire when we tried to use it. The pool was really dirty and not running and the hot tub cover was really hard to take off and on . The bed sheets in the master bedroom were ripped and there was no replacement ones ,so the landscaper had to come over bring us some. The oven broke and we could not cook so, all the food we had bought to cook had to be dumped($300 dollars in groceries). Speaking of dump, the owner requires that you drive 30 minutes to the town dump at the end of the stay to dispose off all trash. Well we did this 2 times during our trip and were sure to empty all bins when we left yet the owner said we had not remove all the trash and wanted to charge us extra money! We where refunded by owner for dinner but it seemed like they didn’t really care.

I’m truly sorry you were unhappy with your stay.
You sent me a long text the first day so I sent my neighbor that day who also does our lawn, is a deputy sheriff and a good friend to come help you out with the grill and get you a new set of sheets to replace the the one that had a rip. You then texted that all was good and you were having a great time. Everyone loves it here. Then you informed me about the Wi-Fi and that you had unplugged and plugged the modem, so I called the internet provider immediately and had them reboot on their end. You told me it was then working. I recommended if there were a lot of people on it to use your hot spot if it worked there since that is what other renters and myself have done. We have the best Wi-Fi we can get but as I explained we are in a rural area with no cable so our Wi-Fi can support someone watching Netflix and a few others checking email or internet browsing . I’m on the waitlist for both starlink and the rural internet upgrade, but for now this is my only option.
Yes it is spelled out many times that we do not have trash pick up. The closest dump is 12 minutes away per google maps. The cleaner sent me pictures of all the trash you left and quite a bit wasn’t in trash cans. Although the cleaners charged me extra I did waive for you .
Apparently a big storm happened and put a lot of leaves in the pool after the pool company came. As soon as you let me know I called the pool company to come back out.
The bottom burner on the oven broke on Friday night. I immediately called my handyman who came Sunday morning to fix. Since he could not come Saturday I tried the local appliance store who didn’t have appointments available for weeks. I reimbursed you for the 2 dinners that the oven was not working properly.
I’m sorry you felt I didn’t care but I don’t know how I could have done more for you. Every problem was dealt with on my end immediately. It is always my goal for every guest to have a wonderful relaxing vacation. I realize it is a lot money, time and effort for people to take vacation and I do my best to make it a positive experience.
