Lake House ~~ North
Waterfront retreat, welcomes you to paradise. On the Susquehanna River, Lake Aldred is an eight mile long lake form between two dams in southern Lancaster County. Come and relax and watch the eagles ( home to 8 eagles nest) you will have daily sightings. The perfect place to enjoy yourself with your favorite activities; boating, fishing, hiking, outlet shopping, Amish country. At the end of the day spectacular sunsets over the lake on your own private deck. Grilling on the gas grill or the fully equipped kitchen. Or spend the week sitting down by the lake where we have horseshoes or hit a couple golf balls into the hole.
Dockage available for your boat out front, public ramp is 1/4 mile upriver at the Pequea Creek. Plenty of parking for the trailer in the overflow area onsite.
Or just come to relax and soak up the tranquility of the area!

Relax in the open floor plan; living room with the perfect view, also enjoy watching a 70" TV, fully equipped kitchen, microwave, dish washer. Full bathroom with tubs on both floors. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed, TV and bedroom 2 has a queen size bed, TV. Bathroom on the 2nd floor also includes a washer & dryer, ironing board, hair dryer. Optional airbed for extra people available. (Note; #868495 - adjoining property for larger gatherings* pricing available, 10 additional people, making this a 5 bedroom option. )

The lake is surrounded by the Holtwood Preserve; Shenk's Ferry Wildflower Preserve(one of the best in the northeast) and Tucquan Glen Nature Preserve, Pinnacle Overlook are less than 5 miles away. Conestoga trail runs thru Pequea and joins the Mason Dixon trail system. Canoeing & kayaking are great as both the Pequea Creek and the Conestoga River end in this section of the Susquehanna River. Perfect area for water skiing or fishing. Pequea boat ramp also includes a handicapped fishing area, 1/4 mile up river.

Absolutely gorgeous view/scenery, extremely clean, very comfortable. Enjoyed the welcome wine and Pellegrino! One parking space adjacent to house. While there was overflow parking just down the street, would have at least liked 2 parking spaces right at the home.

This property was wonderful. It was just as advertised. The home is very inviting including anything you need to cook with. The beds were comfortable. The cleaning crew did a wonderful job. We felt completely comfortable there. We’d rent again without hesitation.

Communication with property owners was very fast. Property was very clean and exactly as described. The view was beautiful from the deck and the back windows. We even had a bald eagle tet in the pole and tree near our deck. Great place to rest and relax!!

My boys and I had such a nice time escaping to this beautiful area. Even with rainy weather it was serene and an enjoyable trip. The train took a bit to get used to as it ran on an evening and overnight schedule while we were there, but was not a total disruption. Easy drive to explore the state park and Lancaster.

Great space and location.
We had an enjoyable stay in this home. It was very clean and well appointed. We especially appreciated that linens and towels were included as those things are so cumbersome to bring along. The owners graciously allowed us to change our date at the last minute and were both very quick to respond to any questions we had. The only downside was the frequency of the train passing the house. It is not obnoxiously loud but it did wake me several times the first night we were there. By the 2nd night, I was so tired and possibly expecting it so I didn’t notice it as much.

Amazing Thanksgiving Getaway
We stayed at the lake house over the Thanksgiving holiday. The views from the living room and master bedroom were breathtaking. The house was beautiful and well equipped with everything we needed. The property manager was wonderful - answering our questions, showing us how to manage the thermostat and even dropping off salt when we ran out. Incredibly kind and helpful. We took walks around the woods and down by the water. I highly recommend a stay at the lake house. Thank you!

Amazing peaceful getaway
I spent the weekend for a mini getaway. It was so peaceful and surrounded beautiful views. It was the perfect way to take a few days away from stress and chaos of work. The house was exactly as pictured and I had zero complaints. I will absolutely be coming back when I need another quiet stress free trip! Other than the parking being a bit adventurous, this was a great place to stay. Plenty of room, lovely deck and the picnic areas down by the water were great. The area has lots of hiking options and is a reasonable distance from Lancaster shopping.

Nice get-away
Good size for 4 people. Nice deck for relaxing; gas grill works, but needs attention. Dining table large enough for playing dominoes and other games. Parking out front is very small (we have a mini-van that had to let us out, then park VERY carefully to be off the street). Overflow parking isn't that far away for more space. We're glad we brought 4 dinners for the week, since the drive to a grocery or restaurant is very curvy & takes about 25 minutes each way. Great place to stay if you want to do lake activities or stay home & relax. Trains went by several times each day/night, but there was never a loud whistle like you hear at crossings. We didn't find the trains bothersome.

Lake House Extraordinaire
Beautiful lake house and so happy we got to stay there. My family and I stayed in many rental homes around the country and this place is definitely in the top of the list. Fantastic job with all the furnishings and amenities. We absolutely plan to rent again next summer along with our close friends.

Great stay on the river
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well furnished. The view was outstanding. The only things people need to know is trains do go by at night. I'm a heavy sleeper so it didn't bother me but if you're a light sleeper you will here it. Also, I wish I could have opened the windows but understand having to worry about people leaving the windows open is a concern for the owners. I hope to come back again soon!

Property was very clean. Very accessible. Hosts answered immediately when asked a question. Really enjoyed the eagles in the tree by house every morning. Beds very comfortable. Would recommend this townhouse and the hosts.
