Amazing hotel, food and staff!

I stayed here for 2 nights to use as a base to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks as well as head towards Windermere for an after. The entire experience was brilliant. The room was fantastic, the food amazing (I had the burger one night and the steak the next, both absolutely gorgeous and perfectly cooked). Most of all the staff were so friendly and welcoming, going as far as to giving me a card on my birthday which was a fantastic little touch. Overall I would happily stay here again if I'm visiting around this area without question!

Substandard

The room was well laid out and comfortable, good size bathroom and shower. We booked a meal in the bar, which was unfortunately below our expectations, the wine list didn’t correspond with the wine that they actually had. The description of food on the menu and special board was misleading and unfortunately when the food arrived we were disappointed. Breakfast was ok, the coffee, tea, cereal station was very limited and the coffee ran out and was not checked or replaced. The service in the bar both during dinner and breakfast was unenthusiastic.

Great staff

Very accommodating when our dog was taken ill and we were unable to eat in the restaurant. Food was great, bed was comfy. Would revisit if in the area.
