Took owner 15 minutes to show up to property we booked but wanted us to stay in different property. House was dirty. Bed very uncomfortable.

For my future guests. My response to this guest.The guest arrived at the house they reserved initially. They were driving a big truck with a huge box truck attached. I had other guests checking in later and knew parking would be an issue. Initially I offered them a private house. 4 bedrooms for the couple and a big driveway that was easy access. They said yes...they would like to have the entire house by themselves. The rate remained the same as a single room. The property is located next door to my family home. I was in and out all day. The guests said the house wasn't clean. Fresh sheets, just vacuumed and new towels had been placed for them. The couple said they didn't sleep well in their bed. There were 4 other beds if they weren't comfortable. But sadly I didn't know of any issues. I asked them to call anytime if they needed me. I received no calls.When booking with our venue it says to contact the host 30 minutes in advance. Unfortunately, I only received a 10-15 minute window. I'm sorry the guests had to wait, but I would have been waiting on them had I known the arrival time.We pride ourself on superior service. I hope the guests will always know to call their host if they have issues so it can be taken care of.

Just so future guests see your comment, I will respond. Typically, I would not, but in your case, I shall.For those reading please understand this guest didn't want other guests in the house where they were. I offered them an entire house, alone. When they came in to look at the house I asked if her 2 yr old and other child were ok in the car. They had been in the car for almost an hour inbetween looking at properties. Because I asked if her 2 yr old was ok she flew off the handle and yelled at me accusing me of saying they neglected their children. And, said I was rude for even asking. Her comment and review does not reflect the beautiful properties, but her personal tone about her children. I was sincere in asking if they were ok and said they might want to come in. But because I asked, she grabbed at the word " rude". I reported the incident to Expedia before any review was offered. I even wrote them and told them I was sorry if they felt I thought they were neglectful and invited them to stay again. Lesson learned. Dont ask about kids in the car.
