A gem of a small hotel

Pour : Friendly owners, great breakfast, quiet room with the pleasant church bell indicating time, a real total experience
Contre : The elevator was "down" for our second floor room
Emplacement : Very convenient Central location in a small town very close to Iper (Ypres)
Very nice totally updated room, Good food in Exceptional tea room/restaurant, wonderful breakfast, especially the warm buns!. Great location for WW1 sites in easy visit proximity. Very personable young couple run with a genuine interest in their clientele. When we indicated we were visiting sites, (the Canadian memorial at St. Julian with it's so often pictured "brooding soldier" is just down the road) we were given a discount coupon book to reduce the costs of our visits. Our stay there was definitely one of he highlights of our Battlefields touring!

Vriendelijk onthaal, kleine maar leuke kamer en badkamer, goed ontbijt, lekker eten.

Het enige minpuntje was dat de ruimte erg koud was in de nacht.

Lovely guesthouse and lovely owners

Pour : Lovely, friendly owners who are obviously taking great care to update the property from the old village hall into this B&B, tea house and bar.
Emplacement : Easy access to Ypres and many WW1 sites.
After we checked out we went to Bruges- also an easy drive from this accommodation.
We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived even though the owners had not realized we had booked. They did their best to get the room ready quickly. They provided us with an evening meal and a complimentary drink.
The guesthouse is lovely and very freshly modern.
Breakfast was great and had a lovely selection of foods.
The room was very warm, however, even with windows open. Noise from the road traffic may put off light sleepers but this is not the fault of the owners.

Fantastisk service
Publié le 11 févr. 2014 sur Hotelsvi ankom sent og alt var slukket og låst. Men der hang en fin seddel i vinduet - med tlf til brug ved sen indcheckning. Ejeren var der i løbet af 2 min, og ydede en super service. Dejligt rent værelse og super lækker morgenmad. Fin pris, bare husk - de tager ikke kreditkort. Kan kun anbefales.

Good Breakfast!

This hotel only accepts cash which was not stated anywhere in the booking conditions and caused us to make an unexpected trip to an ATM for more euros, very annoying. Parking is plentiful, near to the hotel, and free of charge which is so nice and convenient. Breakfast was wonderful. There's a church across the road whose bell rang through the night and a bit of road noise (our room looked out onto the main road); it was still cold out so we could close our windows and shut out the noise but I suspect that would cause lack of sleep in the warmer months. Very good location if you're on a tour of the cemetaries and such.
