The stay wasn’t terrible but weird. The hotel and casino is very old and needs a good cleaning. I’ve never been anywhere in Las Vegas where the staff did not greet you as you walked by or even hold a door open for the guests. The resort fee is odd as this in not even close to a resort. Just a weird experience. The hospitality in the new bar and restaurant and the old one was very slow, no friendly ( but not mean) The rib place was fantastic as was the service. Not terrible but below average and poorly maintained.

This is our second time staying at Ellis Island. It is a great alternative to staying on the strip and all the hectic conditions. It’s close enough to walk to the strip, but you have far enough a way to be comfortable and quiet enough. We noticed a refurbished the casino area and the ground floor rooms. They’re clean and comfortable and more modern. They are doing some construction there which made things a little inconvenient, but I’m sure it will benefit Ron once it is finished. The lobby looks like a waiting line instead of a lobby. I understand this is to accommodate large amounts of people checking in, but it is not inviting at all , the lobby should be your first impression of an establishment and your lobby is basically awful.

A/C unit sounds and runs like a tractor. Dingy sheets and towels. Just poor quality all around but it’s cheap so expect it.
