Won't stay again
Posted Aug. 16, 2024 on HotelsReceptionist did not explain why a deposit was required when not paying by credit card. Room decor is ok but the bed is a slab of concrete - horribly uncomfortable. Scalding hot water out of the cold tap. Too noisy.

Hi Tara, I'm so sorry you were not satisfied with your stay. I have discussed the issues about your room to the rest of the staff and we will be making the necessary changes that we need to make in order to accommodate future guests better, as well as become better at what we do. I apologize on everyone's behalf for any miscommunications regarding the 200 deposit. In Ontario, it is a standard practice to request a deposit from guests in the case that there are any damages to the room following your stay. A registration form is read and signed by all guests before check-in which also explains this and explains we reserve the right to ask for this deposit. The deposit may be different at certain hotels or motels, but we all reserve that right. The reason we may not charge a deposit is because with credit cards, we are able to access the deposit that we would be entitled to in the most extreme of cases after your stay. However with a debit card, we would need your physical card along with your pin. In the case of an emergency following your stay, this would be an issue if we didn't have a deposit. I'm very sorry about the experience you had with us. I hope this clears up any concerns you had regarding the deposit, and thank you very much for the feedback. We appreciate it. :)

A great budget friendly stay
Posted Aug. 15, 2024 on HotelsVery clean with basic amenities. The staff were friendly, and check-in and check-out were easy. Would definitely stay here again and happily recommend to other travelers. Within walking distance of great restaurants.

Rates were excellent and check in process was very easy. Our room had a slight ammonia smell to it but we got used to it. Room was clean, bed was decently comfy. All around a good value for a low rate. Would stay here again.
