Publié le 13 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe have been coming to Gretna for nearly 40 years! For the last few years to enjoy the peace and quiet of autumn. This house is so comfortable and well equipped with the plus of being dog friendly. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

In love with fall.
Publié le 29 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayReminded us of grandma’s house, cozy and familiar with great views of the fall foliage. Kitchen served us well. Only main issue was the radiator heat not cooperating in one bedroom. We also did not expect the driveway to be so steep; AWD/4WD vehicles that sit high are a must, your average sedan is going to have a tough time.

We love Fall in Mount Gretna, too! We are sorry to hear about the radiator and will be sure that is looked at promptly.
Like many cottages in the area, this one is built into the hillside, and the driveway does have a slope. With caution, any vehicle can park in the driveway, but we also provide two on-street parking permits for parking right out front of the cottage, if that is preferred! Thanks for being such great guests.

Mount Gretna is an ideal, central location when visiting Southeastern Pennsylvania. Under 30 minutes to Lititz, Hershey, Lancaster, Lebanon, Harrisburg and Manheim, too! Mount Gretna cottages are convenient, and quiet. Perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing!

Cozy Cabin feeling

Family gathering to honor our matriarch
Publié le 29 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had 5 adults stay at the facility and it was as advertised. Additional family joined us Saturday for informal gathering over pizza. Stairs to the second floor posed some challenges as my wife was sporting a walking immobilizer boot.

This cottage is perfect for family gatherings. Lots of space at the dining room table to sit together and an extra-large living room to spread out and relax!
We are glad to hear your wife was able to make her way around the cottage even with an immobilizer boot! That does sound challenging. Luckily, this cottage has a den on the 1st floor that provides a private sleeping space if mobility is an issue.

Great Stay for our Renn Faire Group

Older home needing updates and cleaning
Publié le 14 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis home has a welcoming screened porch and most of the time we were there was spent enjoying nature out there. Kitchen is well stocked and enhances fixing meals at home. Location is great for exploring Hershey. Owner/manager promptly responded with kindness and good solution to our problems. Home needs cleaning-shower curtain-mold at top and bottom, shower doors-mold at opening, refrigerator food and meat juices debris left, furniture and master bed need update-uncomfortable, “clean” dish towels smelled sour-maybe left in washer too long, dirty towels were left in washer as well as some trash in cans when we arrived, bathtub needs a scrubbing, and house has pet odors although website does say pet friendly home.

This cottage is historic. Built in 1929, it is almost 100 years old! Mount Gretna is ideal when visiting Hershey and Lancaster, too - within 30 minutes to both. We agree, the porches are what set this cottage apart. Many guests spend most of their time out there! Thank you again for your understanding with the linen mix-up. Mix-ups are unfortunate, and not taken lightly - we will always communicate as soon as possible with our guests and do our best to handle the situation. We have been working with a new cleaning team, and they have been doing a fantastic job - after an extremely busy season with back-to-back reservations, this cottage will receive a deep, thorough cleaning soon. We would love for you to come back again!

Nice Getaway!
Publié le 14 août 2024 sur HomeAwayIt was our very first time to Mt. Gretna, and it was great! The house was lovely, very comfortable, and very convenient. Our group consisted of my husband, myself, our son and daughter-in-law, and 17 year-old grandson. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely, and our only disappointment was that we could not stay longer, since it was fully booked before our dates and after our dates. Next time, we will know to book earlier. Again, we had a wonderful time and thank our host for sharing their beautiful home with us!
