Beautiful home & neighborhood
Publié le 27 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a lovely stay this weekend. We were in town for the Renaissance Faire- which was only a few minutes away by car. The home and the entire gave the entire weekend a magical touch- absolutely stunning! We will definitely be back 😍

Quaint cottage in lovely neighborhood
Publié le 26 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayReally cute place. Lots of nooks & cranies to explore. Don't miss the bench in the living room that opens up to a ton of games. Wrap around porch is gorgeous. Very friendly people in the town. We had an issue with plumbing close to 11pm & the owners picked up the phone right away. They got a plumber out first thing the next morning to take care of it. Very impressed. If the town is running an outdoor walking play - go. It's awesome. And make sure to go to Porch & Pantry to eat. A bit expensive, but SO worth it. Make a reservation though.
Cons: It did smell musty when we got there, but opening the windows for a bit helped. You have to bring bedding & I would recommend bringing comforters too. Bring hand soap for the sinks too. No privacy for adults. The walls don't go all the way up so sound travels. So don't expect romance if you're not alone. The houses are practically on top of each other. This didn't bother us, but it was unexpected.
Overall I highly recommend this property.

"Wooded Wonder" is a wonderful cottage-bungalow in the woods

Nestled among other beautiful cottages in the woods, the expansive wrap-around porch and period furnishings make this a time capsule to be enjoyed and savored in a relaxed and reflective setting. The owner has done an amazing job of furnishing and decorating the cottage with a keen eye to authentic details. Commendable. And worth your time to just "set a spell" on the porch among the wooded wonder of Mt Gretna Campmeeting. We enjoyed dinner at The Timbers and at The Hideaway.

Great location poor amenities
Publié le 15 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat location, spacious however, no soap had to bring sheets and towels and toilet paper. No coffee it was just lacking for the price of two nights a hotel would have covered these basic services.

We agree that bringing your own sheets and towels may be an inconvenience for some guests. Penn Realty plans to provide fresh linens (bed sheets and bath towels) at all of our cottages, this one included, starting in 2025.
Many of our cottages do provide soap and coffee, too. We would love for you to come check out one of our other ones next time. An entire cottage in Mount Gretna provides a lot more privacy, and room than a hotel would!

We are sorry you had a little trouble in the dark! We allow guests to check-in anytime after 3 p.m., and would recommend daylight hours if trying to find a cottage for the first time. Charming Cottage in the woods
Publié le 12 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed our stay very much! The cottage was comfortable and filled with lovely old furniture. It was within walking distance of all the activities we had planned. The porch was a great place to sit at any time of day or night.

The house smelled musty and moldy. There was used bars of soap in tub, shower and bathroom sink. Toilet seat was dirty. I was so saddened.

The location really is great, but we are nothing but disappointed that you didn't enjoy your stay. We are working with the owner directly, who handles the cleaning and maintenance of this cottage herself. We have a variety of cottages throughout the Chautauqua and Campmeeting neighborhoods of Mount Gretna - we would love for you to check out some of our other options for your next trip!
