Sadly awful 😞
Publié le 11 sept. 2024 sur HotelsI was sadly very disappointed, the hotel is tatting and needs some basic cleaning and painting.
Positives: the bed was comfortable, it was quiet and the shower was a good pressure and hot.
Negatives: the dust on the heater in the room was thick, mould in the bathroom with peeling paint, services at breakfast was awful meaning I missed out on a cooked breakfast as I was ignored for over 20mins and was required to leave for my work meeting.
I would have raised these issues but reception was unmanned when I left.

Dear Jill,I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay here at The Talbot. its a very old building. and we can dust as mush as possible but sadly it does come back rather quickly. in the room is a little not in the booklet explaining that we are fully aware that the hotel is in need of a full refurbishment and that we are hoping that will be done very soon. mold is on of our main concerns and i can promise you that the bathrooms are cleaned within a inch of there lives everyday with anti mould chemicals. i am also sorry that you think you were ignored at breakfast. looking back at the Rota it was in fact myself that served breakfast that day, i really don't remember ignoring anyone but i really do wish you had something to me. someone may not have been on reception but i was certainly here, my apologies again. regardsHelen

A very nice very old hotel

Very quirky 1500’s property. Needed a bit of an upgrade. Carpets throughout could do with a clean. Breakfast was lovely & cooked fresh. A good place to stay for a couple of nights for the price
