Marathon and Chill
Publié le 16 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayCame to Maine to run a marathon. We were lucky enough to find this residence instead of a hotel. I’m glad that we did. It’s a charming cabin that is very pet friendly if you bring a pet. Chilling out on the dock and listening to the loons while boaters cruise by was very relaxing.
The owner is very available and easy to communicate with.
If there was any one thing that needed additional attention, it would be the cleaning. The person who does the cleaning probably needs one of those Swiffers with a telescopic pole to get the pesky cobwebs and dog hair tumbleweeds. But with that said, it’s a wonderful property that I’d love to stay at for a week or so.

Thank you for your honest review! I'm also glad you chose us over a hotel as well, we are priced in line with local hotels (maybe cheaper really with much better views overlooking a lake vs a parking lot lol). We do try hard to make things extremely comfortable for your stay with all amenities.
I definitely appreciate the input that things could be a little bit cleaner, this is very helpful. Our last housekeeper retired, so we had to find another and has not had the benefit of being shown how I like to have things done yet. As i will be there soon, I will go over things in detail about how I like to have things cleaned. I pay attention to the little details to make sure things are nice for our guests, and that includes in this case making sure everything is spotless.
Hope the marathon went well and would love to have you stay with us again!

I hope you do! You are welcome anytime! We try to make any getaway special for you, and we absolutely are pet friendly. Hence the dog beds lol. Unlike most hotels that are pet friendly, and other listings on these sites, we don't have any additional cost for pets nor a host fee. Never have, never will. It's just our way. Our goal is to provide great accommodations at a fair cost so you can just simply...relax. lol. We've had dogs, cats, even a bird as a guest here. So pet friendly is exactly that! Pet friendly. Now if someone wants to travel with a alligator or something like that might make me a bit nervous. Lol

Fantastic Stay

Absolutely fabulous lake house!
Publié le 21 août 2024 sur HomeAwayBeautiful location - even better than the pictures. The house is roomy and comfortable. The little extras were lovely (wine and blueberry coffee). Everything you need is provided except your food! We canoed, kayaked, hiked and enjoyed the views and the provided entertainment inside the house (movies, foosball, board games and video games). We enjoyed cooking out on the grill. We loved hearing and seeing loons daily. I wholeheartedly recommend this lake house. The owner was very responsive. We hope to return soon!

Thank you! There's a certain type of special about this area that is hard to explain, when I was looking at places to buy 18 years ago (this is the only place I own) I fell in love instantly. It's as if any stress or pressure from the outside world can't seem to penetrate. I don't get up here enough, but when I do, I find myself having to try very very VERY hard to stay focused on the improvements to the house vs relaxing and doing absolutely nothing lol.

Publié le 28 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayReally well stocked house right on the lake (and dog friendly!). Neighbors weren’t too close and the fishing was A+. If it wasn’t already booked I’d try to grab another weekend this summer - two nights wasn’t enough!

So happy you had an enjoyable stay! We absolutely do care about the comfort of our guests whether they are human or pets so we definitely are pet friendly. We understand that pets are family as well so it's important to us that we do not change extra in the form of a pet fee.
Also , thank you for the compliment about things being well stocked. Planning a getaway can be stressful and time consuming enough without having to worry about whether you need to bring cooking utensils, linens, etc.
Also, we are continuing to make additional improvements (ongoing process). So far we have remodeled the bathroom, both bedrooms, and the entry way. While there is still more to do, we are focused on continuously making things better so on your next stay, if you do choose us again, there may be some additional changes. Hope to see you again!

Hidden Gem!
Publié le 8 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayThis hidden gem is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Right on the lake and minutes from great hiking, this place is hard to beat! Secluded yet close enough to Lincoln and Millinocket in case you need supplies or want to sample local food and beer. The water was still a bit cold so we didn't take advantage of the kayaks but would have loved to. We will surely be back another time!!
