Dear Valerie, I'm really sorry to have received just 2 stars which is really something which has never happened for the Mereta. Disappointing also because when talking face to face with you and all your other friends before you left, you all were happy and you told that everything was fine with the house, the pool etc. The 2 stars for our property are simply not acceptable as a judgment, both for the house and the location, and I consider this a very poor sentence, and what is more, unjustified. Also, the property is not isolated like you say but of course it is a quiet place inserted in a residential area (not a village so you shall not expect to have a downtown etc.) and this is why we strongly recommend to have the car when staying in our property. I want also to clarify that they property is 10 minutes by car from the town, the beach and all amenities, so really the word isolated again doesn't fit very well with the reality. Also, I don't know which is your concept of High Mountains, but we are just 300 meters above the sea level, this is hill countryside, nothing to do with mountains. Disappointing also because of all the concessions which we did to you, like giving to you an additional space and room (which was not included for your number of people), and others kind concessions which I even do not want to list here because they were such special that I prefer not to mention. Normally I accept all the comments and critics since they are welcome and also useful for improving, but this time I have to reject such a senseless review. I hope other guests can have a measure of the real standard of the property by comparing your review with all the other 5 stars reviews which you can find in the Mereta books. The point is that we put a lot of efforts and work in making everything as much as possible perfect for our guests and honestly speaking next time you have in mind to give 2 stars to someone I suggest you to be more honest and discuss face to face first, so at least you give the chance of discussion and/or clarifications. Shooting in the back, and moreover without any reason and in such a senseless way like this, it's just not fair, luckily the most of our guests are different, and you can see it from our published reviews. Due to the heavy rains which we had just before your arrival and consequent external humidity, we could not air the house as we usually do before your arrival, so this is the reason of the stale air. Thank you Garry for your review. Yes we always recommend guests to have a car since the property is in the countryside, on the hills, and it is not convenient to walk to the nearest town of Chiavari. There are few restaurants at walking distance but you definitively need a car unless if you want to explore the area, unless you really decide to spend the most of your holidays at the property without moving. The surroundings are quiet and typical of a countryside place, so you may hear some dogs barking time by time and this may be annoying for some. Luckily this is not happening frequently, but it may happen, like you correctly stated. Also, the property is near to the church and in the morning the bells ring, also at some other few times during the day! This is something which may be annoying for someone, while it is instead characteristic and picturesque for some others! We are happy for these constructive reviews, because we have the opportunity to inform and warn the guests about the place in order not to have expectations being unmet. So if you definitively hate church bells ringing, dogs barking sometimes, and you do not like to drive... you may think twice before booking the Mereta! Seriously, we invite all the guests to double check with us in case you have doubts, the most important thing is to make all of you happy, so for any clarification please do not hesitate to ask before making your reservation!
