First, the TV did not work. I called the front desk. Someone came to fix it and disappeared to get something to help then never returned although we waited a long time. Then the heating/cooling system started to smell like it was burning. A very strong smell so strong that I could not stay in the room. All this happened at 9 in the evening. I called the front desk again but no one came after saying she would come right over. I finally walked over to the front desk and was told to expect that kind of thing given the type of room we had rented. (She then proceeded to say bad things about how Expedia set false expectations when booking rooms and that we should have known that ours was an economy although we certainly did not.)
The young lady was alone at the front desk and clearly overwhelmed by her job. She said 12 parties were about to check in although none was there at the point I was. Well after 9:30 PM, she moved us to another “economy room.” To my mind, in the name of better customer relations, she should have upgraded us given the problems we had had with the room, problems that were not of our making. There were plenty of rooms available.
Also, the breakfast was sub-par, even for this level of hotel.
I had always thought Wyndham was a decent brand and have stayed in Wyndham hotels before that were fine, but now my perceptions have changed given this unpleasant experience. I probably will not choose a Wyndham hotel again and will share my experience with others.

I had an enjoyable stay here. My Aunt was impressed with the pics of Eleanor Roosevelt and a young JFK. Nice solid hotel. I would stay there again.
