Wonderful staff - very helpful in navigating and planning Cinque Terre! Beautiful property, gorgeous rooms - spacious and very comfortable. Only thing to note and plan for is it’s a 30 Euro cab to and from Monterosso.

Exceptional experience in quintessential Italy!

We LOVED our stay Al La Sosta do Ottione iii… amazing medieval home renovated with simple elegance and so comfortable. My teen daughter said she didn’t want to leave! The inn is situated at the top of a hill by a small village, and the beautiful terrace overlooks the valley with other villages dotting the hillsides. We had been in Cinque Terre and this was truly a wonderful choice and the perfect Italy experience for our family! Angela is a lovely, kind host who made our wonderful stay complete!

Although the woman manager was lovely and tried everything to accommodate us, this place is not what it is marketed to be. Remote is an understatement. We arrived at 2:00 from a long train ride to no food, no town, no restaurant near by, no air conditioning because the one in our room didn’t work and no taxi service that didn’t offer a window of hours. We were prepaid and checked out after 2 hours and didn’t care to lose the money. It was unhealthy hot in the room and outside was no better. We were required to drag our suitcases up a long dirt path to get to a street where a taxi the manager located would take us to a town we didn’t want to go but then had to take a train back to the town we arrived in. The manager again was lovely about it, helped us haul our bags and did bring us some cheese and snacks from the kitchen as I explained we were starving having not been able to eat since our train left at 5:00 and did not have food service. She tried very hard, but there is nothing that could have kept us there. Old a quaint is fine. Just old isn’t.

Dear Jaqueline,Thank you for taking the time to write your review and I am sorry that you did not like La Sosta di Ottone III.We host Guests from a multitude of different cultures and ages, who have different expectations of our six-room hotel & restaurant which reinforces my commitment to communicate our hospitality offer as clearly as possible in order to avoid this type of disappointment.I confirm that we do not have:.a coffee bar,.a lunch service, and that there are no coffee bars or restaurants in our tiny village. There is a minibar in every room with:.water - complimentary on the day of arrival.local soft drinks.local wine selected by a sommelierThere is also a kettle, complementary organic teas & tisanes, and a packet of local dry focaccia, complimentary on the day of arrival. We serve:.breakfast from 8.30 am to 10.00 am.aperitivo from 6.00 pm.dinner from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pmOur restaurant is closed on Mondays. The towns of Monterosso and Levanto are both 5 kilometers away and the taxi ride is 10 minutes long and costs roughly 25.00 one way.La Sosta di Ottone III is situated in a medieval village and it is not accessible by car. Guests without a car arriving from Monterosso will be left at the top of the village where they take a gravel footpath for about 70 meters leading to our six-room hotel and restaurant. Guests with a car can park at our car park at the bottom of the village and take the monorail up to the hotel or walk up through the village for about 150 meters.I am sorry about the A/C: I only heard about it when you came to tell me you were leaving and I was able to fix it about 10 minutes after you left.I encourage all future guests to contact us if they have doubts or concerns about what we do, where we are, and how to reach us.Kind regards,Angela Fenwick
