The Governor’s House

A beautiful 5 bedroom historical house built in 1913 for Roy and Ellen Ayers. Mr Ayers was the Governor of Montana from 1937-1941. It is in the historical district called the “Courthouse District”.
3 large bedrooms are upstairs with one bath and 2 bedrooms are on the main floor with 2 baths. The main floor has a large living room, dining room, kitchen, game room and office.
We have security cameras on the exterior of the house. They are disarmed when guests are there, unless we see there is an issue (sneaking a pet in, too many people, destructive behavior, etc).

Great history and perfect location!
The house was perfect for our visit to Lewistown for a family wedding! It accommodated our family and we enjoyed spending time on the front porch and appreciated the documentation providing the history of the house. The only downfall was not enough toiletries and garbage bags for our larger group. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely home
The house has so much charm and space! Everyone had room to stretch out and relax. The house is in a great location, quiet neighborhood and close to everything. Fantastic House! Great Location!
This is the third year in a row that my family has stayed here. The house has plenty of space for a larger group. It's clean, full of historic charm, and the location is awesome! The kids walk to and from the pool and Spring Creek. It's also an easy walk to Main Street to take in the shops and restaurants. We are thrilled to be repeat guests and are already looking forward to next summer.

Gorgeous clean home with charm!
Gorgeous, clean home with rich history and charm! This home is beautifully furnished, with ample room for families to relax and enjoy their stay. The amenities allowed for comfort and convenience, while away from home (i.e., including plush towels and luxurious bedding). Derree was an extremely professional host to work with and responded quickly to any questions we had. We will absolutely stay here in the future!

Stayed for a funeral
Were able to book this last minute due to 2 unexpected losses in our family. This house was big enough for the family to be together and not feel crammed. It was very clean and a good location with lots of parking. We were very happy with our stay.

Gracious Governor's House
The interior decorating was phenomenal. It was an old home & decorated w/so many antiques. Each room was well thought out. We enjoyed the space. There was visiting w/much love & laughter going on simultaneously in the front room, dining room & out on the porch. It was absolutely the best. We loved shopping the old stores, driving through the countryside. Just beautiful. My siblings & our spouses were there for 3 full days & will always treasure the memories we made there.
