We didn’t mind the property upgrades, but they put us in our first room, the smoke detector was off the wall wrapped in plastic, when we pulled sheets back there was hair, and lint on the bed and a stain that went through the sheet to the mattress pad… got moved to second room, thanks to good customer service by the night attendant… that room was good, but no toilet paper in the room! Someone needs to retrain cleaning staff…

Yikes! Renovation is understandable and believe us, this place desperately needs it. However it should probably be done in a manner that doesn’t leave guests feeling unsafe or uncomfortable. Even the newly “ renovated” room we were assigned was so badly done it made us uneasy about security and questioning eating the breakfast. You can be as friendly as humanly possible and pour on the Southern hospitality/charm but it won’t cover up the poor conditions and amenities that leave guests too afraid to use. Exterior doors that didn’t latch//lock. Room drywall was a mess and paint so thick it clogged vents. New flooring uneven, already cracking and not covering all the way to wall. Pool water was green and hot tub murky. Sinks in the hallway. No table lamp and one obnoxious bright white wall sconce for the whole room. The worst Best Western we have been to by far and we are surprised that they are not concerned with branding with this one.

Remodeling till very late at night and no clean towels. We had to go buy our own. Manager never contacted us back.

Never again! Booked this property because it had a pool for the kids and a hot tub for me. Even at check in, huge LED sign out front advertising pool and hot tub. As soon as we checked in, we headed straight to the pool. I walked straight over to the hot tub. Jets were not working and the water was cold! Not only that, almost all of the pool furniture was broken! Some not only had missing screws, but other pieces had screws sticking out of them. Super unsafe. As for the room itself, it was ok as a whole. I know they are remodeling, but they have a long way to go. Towels and bedspread had stains on them. The promise of more towels never happened. Do yourself a favor and don't book this hotel! Stay on the WEST side of 75 in Richmond.
