Great rooms but bring some earplugs
Publié le 13 juill. 2021 sur HotelsI think unless you’re on the top floor get ready to hear your upstairs neighbor’s footsteps and… whatever else they’re doing. The rooms were nice and clean and the beds/showers were perfect. The rooms would have been perfect if I could have left the fan blowing on the air conditioner unit all night to drown out noise, but it’s not a feature you can make stay on continuously. I wised up and let the bathroom exhaust fan run all night the second night, which is loud enough on its own to drown out some of the noise.
What I liked about the location: it’s the first side street as you’re entering the city from the 101 coming from the north, so it was nice to be able to immediately pull in and not have to drive through the city when I first arrived (it can be a little hard to find things in the city when you’re constantly on the lookout for pedestrians). It’s next to a very nice residential area, so it doesn’t feel very touristy. A 3-block walk to the casino and a 4-block walk to the Safeway and various places to eat/drink. This is all without venturing back onto the 101 through town.
Depends on the experience you want if you’ll like it here. I like staying in more quiet/homey areas, so being against a residential area and close to a big grocery store so I could stock up my fridge was perfect. I loved hiking and exploring the city all day and then coming back to a quiet part of town. Too bad the rooms weren’t insulted better here.

$350 a night for a “suite” and you get a regular room with a fireplace in the corner that doesn’t work. Double payne windows were so fogged up and dirty, could barely see out of them.. top floor facing ocean and rather keep the blinds closed. The floor consistently vibrates like a mild earthquake the entire night from the elevator or something. 35 min in line to check in, 20 min in line to buy food from reception, no where to sit during breakfast….. worst Holiday Inn Express I’ve been to.

Check in and out easy. Mentioned coming in after dinner i would need a water for the night and the front desk person handed us 2 water's no charge.

One comment I have about ADA bathrooms. Could you please consider removing the tube and make it all shower instead. A couple of times I almost fell.
