Nearly Perfect Stay
Publié le 26 août 2024 sur HomeAwayPros: Almost everything! On the beach, beach chairs, clean, just as advertised. Cons: Fan in bathroom super loud and needs to be repaired or replaced. Murphy bed not as soft as desired. Coffee maker broken.Minor stuff.

You can't make a silk purse out of a pig's ear
Publié le 12 août 2024 sur HomeAwayIt's a cute property with lots of beachy decor and relatively new-looking furniture, floors, and carpet; however, it is just overloaded with stuff-too many dishes, too many chairs, too many toys and games, much of it broken, rusty, or missing pieces. Everything, and I mean every surface, is covered with some greasy film, making it pretty gross to touch the cabinets, microwave, light switches, door knobs, etc. The screen door was broken. I don't think the sheets were clean on two of the three beds. They smelled of body odor. I pool is dirty, and I was given a non-working code to get in. I never saw the office opened. The lock box with the key was broken. I didn't even have to put in the code. The top fell off in my hand. The parking lot is not monitored for non-guests. The staircase down to the beach is destroyed, people tore off the tape, used it anyway, and that is a lawsuit just waiting to happen. I heard a women in the parking lot discussing that when she went in her room, she found that it was unclean, and the floors hadn't even been mopped. All of these issues have simple fixes. My advice to spend less at Hobby Lobby on decor and more on efficiency and house-keeping. The other thing that really bothers me is paying a cleaning fee yet having to leave beds and pillows a certain way, wash the dishes and put them away (who knows if the previous person actually washed them with soap?), and take out the trash. Really? What did I pay for then?

I am sorry you feel you had such a bad experience. I have a cleaning company clean after each guest. My phone is available for any guests to call and I will do what I can if there are things that need addressed right away.

Perfect location
Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HomeAwayUnit is perfect beach decor & well supplied. View is spectacular in one of the best locations in Lincoln City for easy beach access. A bit of a “fish bowl” effect as neighbors walk past slider to outside nonstop or hang out right outside. Regardless we would come back.

I am glad you liked the condo and location!! Yes, summer is a very busy time at the beach, hopefully most people don't look in when they walk by, because those walking by are probably staying on the ground floor also, so know how that feels. Beach is so close and the view every minute is so calming. The beach is lit at night so you can continue the outside day.
Look forward to you being a guest again.

Great location and plenty of room
Publié le 28 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat view and easy access to the beach. Fully loaded with all utensils in the kitchen. The two full bathrooms were great for a family of four. Plenty of storage space and had plenty of beach chairs, games and toys. My 16 year old son was worried about tv service but didn’t have to, smart TV had everything we needed for the little time we watched it. Very close, within walking distance, to the tide pools. Nice size main bedroom with full bath and the Murphy bed in the living room were perfect for 4.

I am so glad you the condo was perfect for your family, and yes the location is the best. The two full bathrooms is very helpful for everyone to have a space to get ready for the fun filled day!! The murphy bed makes it great because it fold up and that gives you more floor space. I hope to have you back for another family time.

Publié le 6 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayI booked this condo because the ad said it was a two-bedroom. It is not a two-bedroom but a one-bedroom with a pull down bed in the living room. That meant half the "living room" space is devoted to allowing a second bed. The space for the "living room" and "kitchen" is smaller than a studio, and for a family of 5 this was not livable unless my wife and I were in the bedroom with our youngest.
The Sea Gypsy is a dump and so was the room. I could tell minimal effort is put into cleaning the condo, and absolutely no maintenance is done. There were numerous spots/stains on the wall along with numerous spits with missing paint. The stove was gross and so was the fridge. We didnt cook anything the whole time because of that.
I got in touch with VRBO to express my concern and report that the listing is false advertisement. They are currently working with me on the matter. They also suggested that i get in touch with the owner to work it out. The owner told me i should just deal with it and offered no partial refund for the wrongful ad.
I paid more for a place that was smaller than most hotel rooms, that i had to clean myself, and offered minimal ammenities. Dont make the same mistake i did.

Thank you for your feedback. When we communicated during your trip I suggested to connect with VRBO since that is how your reservation was handled.
There are no two bedroom condos at the Sea Gypsy, all condos are designed with a beach front living space and then a bedroom in the rear by the parking lot, or they are a simple beach front studio. As the pictures show, there is a queen murphy bed that can be pulled down next to the couch in the living room area and then a bedroom with a second queen bed. I have addressed the two bedroom detail with VRBO and due to the condo having two separate sleeping spaces with a locking door in between, this is how it lists.
Despite your disappointments, I hope your family was able to make some good memories.

a great family vacation

The unit was stocked well, was clean and when we had any questions for her, she was immediately available by phone to help. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a beach getaway!
