Pour : Free WIFI, lots of space and the video thing
Contre : You need a car... don't assume you can walk to shops and the beach they are at least a couple of miles away
Emplacement : Residential style development on a hill side over looking the sea
The villa was fantastic and just what we needed. We normally struggle in hotel rooms because you fee so cramped and limited. The villa was a lot bigger than we expected and really felt like a home away from home .... just wish it wasn't just a fleeting visit (and maybe that we had stayed in the summer, didn't realise Cyprus got so cold in the winter).
The rooms were all clean and had everything we needed, there are loads of videos to watch and WIFI was a real bonus (in fact the main reason we stayed at this particular villa - I can never be too far away from work).

Emplacement : Larnaca is nearby and has a lively social scene, restaurants, bars and clubs and everything you would want for a beach holiday. There are a number of dive centres and watersport centres for windsurfing, sailing etc. Larnaca boasts one of the top ten wreck dives in the world - The Zenobia and if you are a diver and in this area then it is well worth seeing. Most, if not all the local dive centres can arrange trips to explore it.
The location of this villa is remote and if the surrounding views were pretty this might be a plus but the views are disappointing. Finding Larnaca from the villa isn't difficult but time spent to-ing and fro-ing between the two becomes wearing after a while. I am due to return to Larnaca in two weeks time and this time I'll be staying somewhere much closer to Larnaca town and perhaps in the centre where I'll have the convenience of some amenities and a sense of some social scene. The villa by comparison has a Kiosk not too far away but there are no other amenities in the immediate area.
We were really excited about this villa. The photos were impressive and we couldn't wait to arrive at our romantic getaway. This villa appeared to be someone's holiday home that is renting out.
Once we arrived we had various issues with the condition of the property. The first thing we noticed was a big brown stain down the side of the beige coloured sofa and the living room rug was dirty and hadn't been vacuumed. In the kitchen we went to the cupboards to find wine glasses to toast our arrival - we found one wine glass with an inch long crack in it and a few tumblers of various sizes - some glass some plastic. We turned on the taps in the downstairs WC to find that the water was brown and had bits in it. In fact at various times during our stay the water supply seemed discoloured. Three of the four dining room chairs had seats that were worn, cracked and torn and therefore unpleasant to sit on.
We are scuba divers and so getting warm after a dive is important. When we wanted to run a bath we discovered that there was no bath plug. A small thing I know but it made all the difference to the enjoyment and comfort of our stay. Also the rack for drying clothes was in very poor state of repair with several rails broken and detached.
The swimming pool on site was a murky green and had litter floating in it and even as an experienced scuba diver I wasn't keen to attempt to swim in it!!!
All in all we were very disappointed with the facilities and feel severely let down.

Very spacious home away from home
Publié le 2 janv. 2011 sur ExpediaWe had a couple of days away during Xmas week and as a family we like a bit of space. We don't like being cramped into little hotel rooms and so we looked for a large self catering accommodation. Pyla View Villa is a very large link detached holiday apartment set within a complex of villas called Pyla Panoramic. There was no on site reception so we had to check in using the key safe (which wasn't a problem). The villa is open plan down stair and very spacious, every room has air conditioning although we didn't use it because temperatures in December never got above 16 degrees. Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms and a lovely bathroom with a power shower. There is an outside swimming pool in the middle of the complex but we never used it. The biggest advantages we found were the media system which features lots of movies and UK TV shows and the onsite broadband internet connection. The only downside we found was that a car was absolutely essential.
