Good hotel for business travelers or w/e events

Pour : Location to where we needed to be
Contre : Outside renovation and new corridor carpets
Free wifi not to ask each days for a code
Emplacement : Location. Is not good if you need to sleep, but good for access to where you need to be
Without knowing this hotel all looked great on the website
However our stay was during the week and the hotel is on a major road junction
So very difficult for sleep
The hotel it's self was in a good standard linside as it has been repainted and new carpets in the rooms
However the main carpet in corridors needs replacing, very old and worn
Also in our room which was recently repaired and had new carpet this was fine, but the mattress was very old and the springs were felt
The inside now is very good standard but as you approach the hotel it doesn't give a good impression as old and tired, I should hope the outside renovation is also planned

Very nice room, comfy bed and good shower. Staff were nice and the whole hotel was very well looked after and clean. Would stay again.

We used this hotel to stay while moving study abroad student into Edge Hill. Was convenient to walk to train-breakfast was good. Loved the servers!!!!
Avoid Saturday nights if a wedding is going on- unless attending-very loud
Room small with poor lighting and would have liked a change of towels 1/2 way through our stay.

The reception/bar area is modern and bright, the rooms are much darker and in need of updating. Saying that it was adequate for our needs. The issue we had was it was so hot in the bedroom (no aircon which I was aware of) and don’t sure why when we there there on a mild Sept day. We couldn’t open the window more than 10cms which gave us very little relief. The road noise outside was loud, it’s a busy road, regardless if the window was open or not. We had to leave it open all night as it was too hot otherwise. Barely got any sleep unfortunately, which was made worse by the group of guys coming in at 3am who proceeded to shout and chat in corridor and bang doors for an hour of so. It’s a decent enough hotel but wouldn’t stay again due to heat/noise issues.

A lovely hotel! Great location to Aintree race course and only a ten minute drive to the City centre!
My only negative was the breakfast service. Its cooked fresh to order which was lovely however we asked on two occasions for toast and it never materialised. In the end we just walked out. The sraff were polite enough but lacked enthusiasm in customer service/ courtesy. I almost felt guilty for asking for ketchup!
I would definitely suggest a self service toaster and perhaps a sauce bottle or sachets on each table.
