Worst place to stay
Publié le 6 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayI can’t even begin to tell you how terrible this place was. It was very dirty and smelled like sewer. The beds are all very old and uncomfortable. The linens on the bed were other stained or dirty. Floors are very unlevel. 1 shower doesn’t work, and that’s good cause there were live roaches in it! We did complain first to host, then VRBO. We’re told the host was unwilling to do anything about any of the problems, then she cancelled our contract (we had prepaid for 23 days), threatened to have police evict us if we didn’t vacate, and refused any refund (this was in day 3). I guess because we had the audacity to report her to VRBO. We have used VRBO many many times in the past with no issues and have good feedback from our hosts. So all I can say is save yourself a nightmare

First of all! It was 4 days before you ever reached out to anyone and said anything about any complaints. Next you NEVER responded back to us or to vrbo. We sent video evidence of the things you claimed were wrong with the house, I sent an outside contractor by after you left and they literally laid in the floor and took photos to show the floors were not unlevel Both showers worked in the home and video was sent to vrbo. The roach you’re talking about is what they call a water roach and could if came in at any time, the house is in deep east texas in the woods on the lake. As far as the beds and the bedding being dirty or stained. We are sorry if the beds were not to your liking but out of 8 beds you could not of found one that would work??? Vrbo is the one that told us to cancel your reservation after opening 2 cases, ( we opened 2 cases) because you refused to respond to them or us. They are also the one that told us that we could call the police if you did not leave, we no longer knew what your intentions were with our property, and could not even tell us if you wanted to leave or not. You were upset because it took us a couple hours to respond because we were at an event, and did not know to keep checking our phones because this was day 4 and NOT ONCE DID YOU REACH OUT AND VOICE ANY CONCERNS. We had several people in the house and not one person could smell what you were smelling or stating that you smelled. It could of been the neighbors aerobic system need cholorine I do not know. But we were advised to cancel you and you are upset vrbo did not side with you after we sent in more than enough evidence we were not in the wrong, in this.
If you not let us know we can not try and fix it. Also all communication is done ONLY through the email server so there is no miscommunication.

The house was much cleaner this time.

Fun place, false description
Publié le 1 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayI planned a stay over a weekend for my brother and a few friends. The whole purpose of the weekend was to enjoy the lake. The description said the boat rental place was a short distance from her so I booked it. Turns out the rental has been gone for over a year now. I wouldn’t have booked the stay if I had known the information.

Publié le 10 avr. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis location is amazing and the home is older which is fine - but it was very dirty inside and out. I'm used to a lakehouse or camp and being older is fine, but this house was icky. Under beds, in corners, closets, etc were so dirty - I dropped something under bed and there we huge dust bunnies and old trash under the bed. The corners behind the night stands were so dirty, the closet where the washer and dryer are is nasty. There was no dish soap or dishwasher pods to clean, I tried to vacuum but it didn't work. We all wore socks the whole time. The beds are not comfortable - old mattresses and there is no mattress pads - there was one mattress pad rolled up on floor of closet and the sheets were thin and pilled. I had crumbs in the king bed which made me think the sheets were not changed. There were two washrags in whole place - one I found in the dryer. I stay in many rentals as I travel a lot - and this was by far the worst. Huget cobwebs and dustbunnies on the ceiling and windows. Years of dirt and wasp nests in the windows. The location is great, the place is big, the living room is comfortable but has two beds in it. The tv's were all nice and streaming worked well. I'm sorry to post this but to pay so much money for three days but we left a day early because we weren't sleeping and were grossed out. Older homes are fine - just clean it well. The host was gracious and allowed us to bring our dogs so we were grateful for that and this has plenty of baby/child ammenities and games.
