Hello Elaine, Firstly, per our text message exchanges during and after your checkout, I made it clear that we do not expect our guests to provide their own pods for the Keurig coffee machine or ground coffee for the French press we have available at the house. We had coffee pods readily provided for you on the dining room table along with snacks and water. Secondly, the first and only time you told me about any mouse issue was the day of your checkout. It was when I reached out to you inquiring when you’d be checking out as you had far surpassed the checkout time of 11AM. It is at this moment, and only at this moment that you wrote to me that “the mouse has been a pest” (your exact words). I responded immediately and advised you that we’ve never had any mice issues, apologized and told you that, if such a problem exists, we will take care of it immediately. It is dishonest and frankly disingenuous to write that I did not respond and that you were ignored when the truth is that whomever you texted before that moment was the wrong number. I know this, because days after your checkout, you sent me a message apologizing for thinking I had ignored you and that you finally realized you’d actually initially texted the wrong person. As an additional note, you ended up checking out over an hour and 45 mins late because you had confused the dates of your reservation and erroneously thought that you had an extra day. We were extremely kind and understanding in allowing you that extra time even though we had our cleaning service waiting for you to leave as we had our next guests checking in that same day. We take our responsibility as hosts very seriously and are honestly quite disheartened at a review full of misinformation and falsehoods because you mixed up phone numbers and could not find the coffee pods that are left out in the most visible area of the kitchen/dining room for all of our guests. Although we do not usually make a habit of responding to reviews, we felt we had no choice but to do so in this case because we wanted to make sure that this misleading and false review does not give any other potential guests a very negative impression of us and our rental.
