Very authentic and charming!
Posted Oct. 20, 2024 on HomeAwayWe really wanted to experience Wales in as authentic a way as possible and we succeeded brilliantly by staying here! The cottage was perfect even if the drive up to it was a little interesting. If you are from the States as we are, you’ve never driven roads quite those in Wales.

Posted Sep. 18, 2024 on HomeAwayIf you are considering a trip to Wales, do not hesitate booking at stay here at "PLASNEWYDD".
It was significantly more beautiful than the pictures in the listing. The house is warm, welcoming, and equipped with literally anything and everything you need to stay. You can tell that this is a HOME, not just a property put together for a rental. You will feel at home from the minute you walk in the door. Having breakfast in the conservatory, with the double doors open on that incredible view is indescribable, you need need to experience it.

PS, your cleaner is indeed extraordinary, because everything is spotless!

Perfect stone cottage in Welsh hills
Posted Aug. 28, 2024 on HomeAwayLovely home from home. Everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable and everywhere was clean and tidy.
Loved the bright conservatory, the large farmhouse style kitchen where we could all eat, and the delightful lounge with a wood burning fireplace. We even managed to eat outside on the spacious patio with fantastic views across the valley. The steep approach to the property was a bit disconcerting but we managed to master this without too much trouble. Talley Abbey ruins were very special as was the church next door. The villagers even provided refreshments in their little hall with tea, coffee, soft drinks, biscuits and ice creams - you just make a donation for what you have enjoyed and there is plenty of covered space outside to sit down too. They have thought of everything. Lovely walks to the lakes and beyond and the villagers are very welcoming.

Sorry that you found the drive up a bit steep, only one other person has mentioned that before but I suppose that is the drawback of being on a hill .but as you say the views are lovely.

A Quiet and Relaxing Getaway
Posted Feb. 6, 2024 on HomeAwayReally beautiful property with a great cosy feel to it. The fireplace was great at keeping the house warm and toasty. Kitchen is well stocked and the sound of the stream near by was lovely!
The road going up to the property is a bit challenging so something to be mindful of with your vehicle. Very remote but a small village is a 15 minute drive away.
The listing says there is a hot tub but they are just regular bath tubs - still great and relaxing! Just no jet element to them.

Sorry have no idea where you thought we had a hot tub, this is not part of our description.
Also we advertise that the house is remote and the nearest village is 15 minutes away, but there is a shop in the village which has basic supplies and also the shop in cwmdu.
The road to the house as explained is a bit bumpy due to the constant rain , waiting for our fellow to do some repairs once it stops! but manageable.
But all in all pleased you enjoyed your stay

Fabulous Stay

The house is set in a tranquil location. Not very remote yet secluded.
The views and outdoors are as beautiful as you can imagine. The house has its own character.
It gives you the pleasure as you enter the home. Full of modern facilities so you won't miss a thing.
Barb is an amazing host and has arranged so perfectly from arrival to every single detail to make the stay comfortable. We would like to visit again and also will recommend this place to our friends.

Awesome vacation home
Posted Oct. 8, 2023 on HomeAwayI'm using the word "home" because that's exactly what this felt like for 9 wonderful days. It exceeded our hopes for comfort, contemplation and experiencing nature! The conservatory (solarium) was where we spent many hours reading, sharing conversation and time for thinking. The area walks were fantastic for me as a hiker and the local folks were kind and friendly.
Our host was very responsive & helpful. I teared up when it was time to leave as I felt so emotionally connected to this charming home and picturesque countryside.

Beautiful rural cottage
Posted Aug. 25, 2023 on HomeAwayAn absolutely beautiful stone cottage. Lovely and quiet. We enjoyed the sunroom in the afternoons with a glass of wine and a fire in the lounge room in the later evening and mornings. Highly recommended.
