Good getaway
Publié le 4 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayLoved we could go off grid so close to Christchurch. Well equipped little house - bit low on matches and cleaning cloths.
Also pretty obvious that it needed a deep clean - I moved the bedside dresser to find a large collection of mouse poo - and then pretty much find that to be the case under all the furniture - it was even under the mattress. Cleaned up what we could before we left but it definitely took a shine off the weekend. I took photos

I apologise the 'shine was taken off your stay here' by the pre-presence of small rodents.
We do pride ourselves on cleanliness and quality of stay here.
A couple of things in my defence, our cottage is right next to the bush so while the cottage is vacant for longer periods in the cooler months these little four legged friends sometimes like to pay a visit. Under normal circumstances I would have done as you had suggested a ‘Deep clean check’ prior to your arrival however I was away at the time and had someone else come in to set up for you. Whilst first impressions looked good it was obviously not the case behind and under the furniture. Once again please accept my apology, I will not let this happen again.

It's worth noting that you won't find power points here- aligning with the property's off-the-grid ethos. So while it's convenient for minimal electrical use, you'll need to plan ahead if you require more.
Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate that bushwalks begin right at your doorstep. Cooking options are versatile with a great BBQ setup and an indoor 2-ring gas burner. The wood-fired stove is also available for cooking. While the stove provides enough warmth in late October, it may not be sufficient for the colder winter months.
The setting is quite favourable for star photography. Book lovers, however, can prepare to turn pages until dawn in this serene setting.

Beautifully back to basics

We went over with kiddies, horses, pony, and dog. Corina is absolutely amazing and really accomodating. We absolutely loved our stay. Thank you so much Corina, girls can not wait to come back
