There was mold in our room from the ac unit leaking and the whole half of the room was wet from the leak

The hotel is okay. Carpets in hallways are stained. The carpet in our room was not clean. Bathroom was clean but either tissue or toilet paper was stuffed around the shower head to ‘hide’ the gaping holes around it. Breakfast was good. It is definitely a pet friendly hotel. I like pets but was surprised to be greeted by a big golden retriever. (I was told it belongs to the hotel owner.). Cat food bowl outside entryway. :)

Overall OK, but had trouble getting the climate comfortable, and there was no vent in bathroom and mirror steamed up when shower was on.

Staff was friendly at check in. The west side entrance did not lock, the west side emergency exit was open the entire time we were there. The phone in our room did not work. The stairwell window sill was nasty.

Nice Stay in Locust Grove

We had a good stay in Locust Grove. Our check-in was a bit slow because I needed to call the hotel in order to track down the front desk clerk. Using the bell on the counter was ineffective. Other than that, the check-in was quick and painless. The room was good, clean, comfortable and had a working AC unit. The beds were comfortable and outside noise was absent since the hotel was a block or so from the nearest large road. The shower was good with nice pressure and head height. The hotel provided towels for the pool right at the entrance for convenience. The pool was somewhat small and exposed to the elements so it was a bit warm. Considering the temperature was well into the 90s, the water being warm wasn't a surprise. Still, it was wet and cooler than the air temp. Breakfast was indicated to start at 6:30am but was hot, fresh, and available at 6:00am We were thankful for this because we wanted to get an early start on our motorcycles before the day's heat set in. We enjoyed the breakfast with the standard scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, breads, fruit options, etc. An added bonus was the snacks and drinks sold at the front desk. They offered 15.9 oz cokes/pop/sodas, candy bars, chips, that kind of thing and everything was only 1$ each. Fantastic. They also didn't charge for a standard sized water. The hotel felt safe and we weren't concerned about leaving our bikes unattended overnight in the parking lot. We'd stay there again.
