Chambre humide mais bon breakfast

Le personnel est accueillant et vous sympathisez de suite.
La chambre est humide et possède un mobilier plutôt vieillot.
Cependant, le service et le petit déjeuner anglais (très bon!) vous font passer un moment presque agréable dans un établissement correct.

Publié le 16 sept. 2014 sur ExpediaL'équipe est très chaleureuse et accueillante. A l'écoute et pleine de conseils Patricia est une vraie mère pour ses hôtes ! Les chambres sont un peu petites mais confortable et bien tenues. Un petit coup de jeune a été entamé dans certaines chambres donc une nouvelle visite s'imposera bientôt !

A comfortable room in a long-standing family-run guest house. Ample parking. On a busy road, so usual traffic noise.

Thanks John,Glad you found our room comfortable.We wouldn't say it's a busy road for London, at all, as always, people's assessment of noise is relative depending on where they live and what they are used to.We note you requested a quiet room, and we gave you a room on the side of the building, which was not roadside.Being in London, as we are, you are going to get some traffic noise, but then that's just relative to the countryside, where you may get almost none.Honesty, people review us all year round, as 'quiet'. I stayed in this Bed and breakfast due to unexpected circumstances and needed a place to stay..,.as late in the day. I am not from these shores and found the overall attitude very unfriendly and condescending.
The deal breaker was the extremely poor Internet..terrible!!! ..if you want to do any more than check emails don't stay here ! I needed to contact clients via zoom and this was impossible. I was not amused.
The bed was uncomfortable, and walls paper thin, and breakfast was edible, hence the one star . ..so I will not be returning.

These extreme reviews always come from a similar source - here's the story on this one:* The airline would not let her onto the plane* She turned up with a bottle of spirits on the bed on arrival* We made every effort to be helpful and friendly* I had to ask her to not shout on the phone late at night on (origin of the misrepresentation 'walls paper thin')* She didn't like the charge for leaving bags after check-out: with no 24 hour reception, this requires staff to be present on return to collect the luggage, which costs us.We were as friendly as we could be, the bed was a quality sprung pocket mattress, the internet here is great quality. This description is a deliberate misrepresentation from someone not allowed onto a flight, staying on her own with a bottle of spirits, shouting late at night, annoyed she couldn't leave bags after check-out for no cost.The review system is open to abuse by bad actors acting in bad faith such as this.Read the other reviews around the same time she posted this for context, to assess how untrue her misrepresentations are.I've no hesitation in calling this a set of deliberate untruths, known in the dictionary by another word I'm avoiding.

Delightful

This was a great place to stay. It was quiet and clean. There were late night food options nearby, and those were communicated in advance. Plus, staff reached out to me after booking and before my stay, to make sure that I had the information I needed to find the place and get settled in. Thank you for a convenient and pleasant stay.
