Found it VERY unusual that the water was not potable. Required purchasing bottled water. On my first stay, I was given a room requiring me to climb 60 steps. The higher I went, the narrower the steps became. There was not an adequate handrail at the top of the last stairs. I had to carry my suitcase up. It was difficult. When I left the first time, I requested a room on a lower floor for my two more stays. I was placed in quiet rooms on the main/registration floor and was OK with that.
Like all the hotels in this area it's converted houses with lots of stairs and rooms on several floors. My room was small but as described. The hotel generally seems clean and well maintained. Breakfast was better than I expcted. Overall the hotel was good value for London
Staff was friendly but a “deluxe twin” was literally like a closet with a tiny bathroom attached. We tried to stay out of the room as much as possible because it was so tiny. Breakfast wasn’t bad though
The room was super tiny. I knew it was going to be small I didn’t realize how small. There was a bad smell that came from the bathroom but closing the door stopped the smell from getting into the already tiny room. The staff was amazing. And the location to everything was great as well. I don’t know if I would stay there again or not. No elevator and we were put on the 3rd floor.

No a/c I repeat…no a/c
No elevator…they put as on floor 4 …
And because of my wife condition they moved as to floor 2. ….
Nice and convenient location.
Very decent breakfast.
This is a Dirty and old Hostel, not a Hotel, I just slept 1 night, for the other nights I had to make a reservation in other hotel and spend more money. The pictures that show the hostel seems that the hostel is in good shape, but the reality is totally different.

I could hear the trains running underneath the floor of my room even though I was on the 2nd floor. Tiny room overlooking a park with homeless people sleeping all night

There is no potable water in the rooms. There was not a sign in one of the rooms we were in that said the water was non potable . There are a lot of places to stay near by with potable water. No where on their website did it say the water was non potable. The person that checked us in did not smile and was not friendly. This was a male. The staff next day was amazing. The breakfast was great! No elevator. We knew this though. The stairs are steep and narrow.
This stately older hotel was located in a quiet, yet active area. Close to trains, subway, buses made the hotel accessible to everything. Several nearby parks for walking and relaxing, including St. James Park and Hyde Park. Rooms and common areas were very clean. Rooms are European small but workable with excellent newer bathrooms. "continental" breakfast was really a full breakfast, self serve with a number of helpful staff. Good experience.
