Publié le 30 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayI live in a nearby town and was hosting thanksgiving for 30 people. I needed a nice place for my mom, siblings and nieces to stay and this was perfect. Very comfortable rooms, bright, clean and big kitchen/dining/living room.
Super close to the boardwalk for day-after thanksgiving excessive.
Owner was extremely helpful, arranged to accommodate wary checkin and exceedingly commutative
Would def recommend.

Publié le 6 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe photos don’t do the house enough justice. It is fabulously decorated and the perfect blend between chic and comfortable. Walking distance from beach and taxis are super convenient to get to the strip with all of the bars. We lost the key by accident and the host was super chill and responsive in getting us a new one. He was a pleasure to deal with. Would highly recommend.

He greeted us at the property to give us the keys and provided several local recommendations for restaurants near by. Pictures do not give the house justice - it is so much bigger and more beyond up than it appears online. Perfect location and kyle is so accommodating with any questions that We had through our stay. I would both highly recommend this gorgeous listing and gracious host.

Beach house

Kyle was a kind and thourough manager who was availible when we needed him.
Biggest issue was that a night had to park a block or two away

Hi Anthony! Thanks for the review. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay! Sorry about the parking…as I mentioned when you checked in, typically guests don’t bring 10 passenger commercial sprinter vans - this was actually the first one. Normally guests bring regular cars or SUVs. For any future guests, the property comes with one parking spot for any standard sized vehicle (10-12 passenger commercial vans excluded.)

Property does not match description
Publié le 10 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe were required to meet with the homeowner (on his schedule) for possession. We soon realized the home was not up to standards.
The home smells of dog. One of our friends has a minor allergy and was deeply impacted. It is quite clear a dog spends much time here. (see #17/18)
#10-19 have pictures.
1. Airy decor with natural light.
2. Close to beach.
3. .7 miles to Boardwalk
4. Not listed, but surprised there was no coffee pot nor toaster.
5. No dish soap
6. One dedicated parking spot (After being told there was plenty of parking, we came back to house at 9:00 pm Thursday night and had to park 5 blocks away)
7. Bath towels were worn and akin to cleaning rags.
8. Dryer has no vent to outside so we needed to wait hours for towels to dry upon possession
9. His mother and dog lives below.
10. No window shade in bedroom –not possible to sleep past sunrise
11. Refrigerator/freezer had freezer filled with food and the fridge with bottles of half used food (e.g., half jars of pasta sauce)
12. Partially used bar soaps in bathrooms.
13. Many used shampoos and conditioner bottles in showers
14. Two carbon monoxide detectors removed and missing from wall
15. House trash piled on side of house. Only one garbage can
16. Multiple stains on bed (including one bright red) with no mattress pad.
17. Closets/Kitchen contain personal items (e.g., owners medical info CD, used Orajel, personal mail, dog medicine/toys/biscuits/training pads)
18. Dog urine spots on rug
19. Stained carpet in rooms

Thank you for taking so much time out of your day to leave such an extensive review.
Firstly, you're welcome for me making myself available to check you in. Certainly, you understand when you're renting a million dollar house that there are certain rules that need to be explained in person.
My recommendation for you would be to read the description of properties that you are booking more carefully - or perhaps stick to hotels.
As you stated, the listing does not state there is a coffee pot nor a toaster - not sure why you would expect one to be there. The listing also clearly states there is one parking spot. I'm sorry to hear that your group did not plan accordingly, however a nice quick 5 block stroll down the beach sounds lovely! As I mentioned to you during check in, it's suggested to Uber around here anyway. Like most towns, Long Beach sanitation department picks up garbage twice a week - not every day. I'm not sure if you've ever owned a home before, but that is pretty standard practice.
One of the courtesies we provide through this listing is soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, etc. Obviously it doesn't make sense to throw out a whole bottle of conditioner after every single guest - however, as I mentioned during the detailed check in walk through, there were several new conditioners and shampoos in the fully stocked dining room closet with extra of everything.
All guests are welcome to bring their own towels if a standard basic towel is not sufficient. Most VRBO's actually instruct guests to bring their own towels. I would have been happy to go out to the store and buy $200/piece towels for you for an up-charge :)
I'm sorry to hear that a stained carpet and a jar of spaghetti sauce ruined your stay in a luxury beach house that you were able to rent miraculously for under $1000/night. There are some lovely hotels in the area should you choose to return to Long Beach, however - it's quite possible that one of the carpets may have a small stain in it, so that might not be suitable for your needs either.
Sending you light and joy for the rest of your summer...clearly you need some happiness in your life.

Dog hair and rude host
Publié le 25 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayThe host cursed me out when I complained about issues I was having at the property. He had dogs on the property and I have asthma. When I reached about it he was silent. Then when I told him I’d reach out to VRBO he berated me with curses and threatened me by saying he’d call the cops if I didn’t leave. I filed a complaint with VRBO and am awaiting a response to the investigation.
If you have any people with allergies, do not stay here.
When checking in the host made my family feel uncomfortable by continually asking why we need to stay here to “pray.” Asking, “why do we need to stay here to pray?”
There is a synagogue nearby that we had plans to be at for Shabbat. However, that is not his business and if he asked once I would understand but it seemed like from the beginning he did not want us there.

Hi Micheal. Thank you for your feedback. What you have neglected to share in your review are a few terms and conditions of VRBO.
1. An owner does have the right to remove a traveler from a property should that traveler be in violation of house rules. Your booking was made under the pretense of 4 adults - however, upon arrival, it was clear that there were 7 adults and 2 children staying at the property. Despite the strict rules of "no parties" at the property, you chose to have a large gathering at the house Saturday day - leaving it completely trashed and with permanent damage to furniture, etc. (most likely from the children running around unsupervised.)
2. As an owner, we cannot turn away travelers who are accompanied by service dogs - it is considered discrimination. Service dogs are not considered pets. We are also not required to disclose if there has been a dog on the property. Had you asked and if your "allergy" was that severe, I would have been more than upfront about that.
I'm a bit confused on the "issues you were having at the property," I don't recall there being any. You were staying in a million dollar beach house, which you chose to allow your children and family members to trash and destroy. You unplugged the refrigerator and lied about it, trying to blame me for "$1300"worth of spoiled food" to get a discount or refund. When I sent someone by immediately to check the fridge, it miraculously was working again...hmmm.
I am sorry that you felt the need to share your clearly deranged and.fabricated experience publicly. Luckily, any traveler considering this property can look at every single other review to date for an accurate depiction of what they can expect.

He stays in the back of the property, so he was available if we ever needed him (which we didn’t). I will be staying again when we come back to New York to visit!

Beautiful Place
