Great, private spot right by Venice Beach

Falls short...
Posted Oct. 10, 2023 on HomeAwayThis was my second visit to this property, with my last stay being three years ago. It was also my first experience with Maimon Management Group. While the house itself is nice, there are some specific details that require attention.
Upon entering, we were greeted by an overwhelming floral smell emanating from multiple Glade plug-ins scattered around the first two floors. The property seems to have experienced water damage, resulting in a musty odor on the first floor and has a fan running 24/7. These issues should be disclosed to all potential renters.
The master bed frame had noticeable stains and carried a distinct odor of both cigarette smoke and mustiness. Despite these concerns, we felt somewhat stuck as we had already booked our stay.
In the kitchen, we encountered difficulty with the refrigerator door and some cabinets, which proved challenging to grasp and open.
Furthermore, the front door lock is positioned in a way that is prone to causing finger injuries. My husband and I both caught our fingers and it's crucial for this to be addressed rather than merely warning guests about it.
While Maimon Management Group was responsive to our concerns, their solution was limited to arranging for the house to be cleaned once more. It's worth noting that all three members of the housekeeping staff had injuries to their fingers.
Overall rating: decent value for the cost but better options
Pros: close to Windward Circle
Cons: back alley is loud and dirty.

Great House and Wonderful Hosts
Posted Jan. 6, 2023 on HomeAwayThis is a spectacular house in a great neighborhood, walking distance to the best parts of Venice. It’s well maintained and spotlessly clean. Hosts are professional, clear in their instructions, and very responsive. Will look forward to staying here again.

Posted Nov. 29, 2022 on HomeAwayThe house was extremely clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the sun on the rooftop deck with coffee in hand each morning. The location is a quick walk to Venice Beach and the shops on Abbott Kinney.

Great property and location, but quality/quantity of essentials lacking for price level

House, furniture, appliances, and fixtures seem relatively new as advertised in pictures, but did have some wear evident of a rental property. Rental preparation and stocked/essential items were very inconsistent and lacking quality given the price point and number of guests accommodated. Management relatively responsive, but unable to solve all problems or act on requests. Expected service level for this pricing tier is out of management's level of capability/experience.

No paper towels provided
Plenty of toilet paper
No dishwashing detergent provided
Plenty of laundry detergent
3 drinkware glasses provided
Decent number of plates, bowls, and silverware
No garbage bags for kitchen
Not enough towels in bathrooms
Cheap toiletries and soaps
Condition and Cleanliness:
Garbage and recycling cans 3/4 full with trash upon arrival
Garbage, furniture, cleaning supplies, excess building material in garage making parking for 2 vehicles not possible as advertised
Garage door remote not always functional
White couch in main living room stained throughout
Ants found in upstairs guest bathroom (coming from behind the mirror) and main dining room
Stovetop grill broken in half
Refrigerator/freezer doors extremely heavy when opening
No dish towels
Towels old, frayed, and stained
Few stains on carpets here and there
Light scratching on cabinets
Spiderwebs in corners
"They offered to charter a private jet but provide no paper towels and have Softsoap in the bathrooms??" - visiting family member

Hello Stephen,
Thank you so much for your feedback. We have taken notes on your concerns in regards to the inconsistency of essentials and have been working on improving this aspect of our service. However, this is the first time we are hearing any issues with ants, paper towels, or missing detergent. If these concerns were expressed during your stay, we certainly would have sent the items to the home asap. Just like when you mentioned a faucet issue, which we addressed as soon as we could.
We apologize for the delayed support, as we were short-handed during the heavy rain and the holidays. We did our best in addressing the issues as quickly as we could, but the availability of outside technicians were limited.
