This plaice was once a beautiful structure and grounds, but now shows serious signs of neglect both inside and out. Nothing like the photos. Chef was kind and tried to help us feel comfortable, My friend and I, two women, in our late 70’s traveling alone, were very uncomfortable having this big old creepy house way back in the mountains, surrounded by brush and trees, all to ourselves. We ask about a restaurant and was told the nearest was about 30 minutes away. We had traveled 6 hours so Chef made us a snack of dry meat and bread. There was no water to make coffee, So I brought water from the car and the coffee tasted “bad” and no creamer. There was plenty of alcohol to make drinks on the open bar, but neither of us drink. So we were going to watch a movie and make the best of it. NO TV! We decided o take a drive to find food and, once away, we admitted to each other we afraid to go back after dark. Seriously frightened, we decided we could not possible sleep in that big ancient house alone, so we went back, packed up our stuff and found another place to spend the night. Nothing against Chef, but the mouse traps under the bed was the last straw.

HI Sharon I'm so sorry that you had to see mouse trap under the bed as you mention it is a old house and we want to do anything we can to make sure you have a clean and sanitized house as of the creamer its usually not out at that time. When you came you ask me about a restaurant near by no one ever ask me where the Mc Donald's is and as you also mention that I offered you snack witch you ate, and we have tested and excellent water and coffee is usually set out for breakfast all you had to ask.no one ever ask my for a tv the point of staying hear is to enjoy the out doors and the winery's and Breyers and many other thing Nelson county has to offer and of course one of the main reason people come to red hill is for our 5 star experience and for our5star breakfast witch you apparently missed and as of the rooms not looking like the pictures I challenge you to come back and show me one room where the pictures don't match I'm sorry that you didn't like your stay but making up stories its not a good thing for every one

The host, Chef Herbert Kerschbaumer, was very gracious and accommodating. The food was exceptional and we can’t wait to get back and sample more. My chef husband was in seventh heaven. The B&B is right next door to the Lovingston Winery and couldn’t be more convenient. Grounds are picturesque. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
