Beautiful setting with delicious food!

The hotel is in a beautiful location just a short walk from the Centre of Oulton Broad where there is a lovely park, in interesting museum (with free entry) and a few pubs and restaurants. You can also take a boat trip from here. We highly recommend the food at the hotel, our evening meal and breakfast were both excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed on Boxing Day for one night as the hotel is conveniently placed to meet family. The room was large and warm. There are drainage issues but they didn't impact us unduly - sink slow to drain and bath drainage into shower tray. Breakfast was lovely, staff friendly.

This property has attractive gardens and the restaurant and pub opening out onto the gardens was lovely. However, our room ( 11) was rather dated (especially the bathroom), although it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately we arrived during a heat wave and there is no air conditioning in any of the bedrooms we were told.

Experience - average

Booked the family room because you can bring your family dog. Room was spacious with 2 singles and 1 double bed. The bed linen on double had brown stains on bottom sheet and duvet, on telling reception the sheets were changed with apologies. Dog bowls were provided with a couple of dog treats, which was lovely to fine. The room wasn’t luxurious enough considering the price, could do with re decorating. Breakfast was small but tasty, unfortunately my partner found egg shell in his full English. Returning home I noticed the hotel had charged me twice for my room! assured by hotel that the second payment would be credited. This is fair enough but a hassle to keep checking my bank to see if the money had been put back in.
