I recently stayed one night at Ludington Pier House motel, and its location is indeed excellent, just a few blocks from downtown. However, my experience was marred by several issues. My room had a strong musty odor, which smelled like untreated flood damage, and maintenance was clearly lacking. The bathroom light switch didn't work properly and would not turn off the bathroom lights, which was inconvenient. Additionally, the outlet near the TV couldn't hold a plug securely. While I didn't visit the pool, I've heard positive things about it. Given the state of the room, I would have considered it fair if the nightly rate was around $100. However, at over $200 per night, I would expect at least basic maintenance to be up to date and not to worry about potential mold. The interiors of the building are quite dated, seemingly unchanged since the mid-nineties, which can be charming, but I would have appreciated better cleanliness or a lower price. Overall, the motel has potential but needs improvements to justify its current rates.

Overall, a nice budget option for a short stay in Ludington. The front desk staff were friendly and gave us clear directions on how to check in. The parking was easy and convenient. The location is great for exploring down town or the beach. The only issues we had during our stay was that the AC had a hard time keeping up with cooling the room, and there were some odd smells from the AC and the bathroom. When I inspected the AC unit via my phone flashlight, there did appear to be some mold inside or the unit. If you have sensitive allergy problems or are staying for an extended period of time, this may be a problem. The bedding and other linens were clean and the fridge was of a reasonable size.

Thank you for your review. I will be having maintenance take the AC's apart to clean the insides. As we don't want any mold in any of our rooms.

I really like the property - well maintained and convenient - but over 2 days we did not receive housekeeping the second day and when clearing out of the room we found utensils under the bed that had been there sometime which is not nice to know the room is not fully cleaned. Again good property but inspect the room first and insist on housekeeping for your stay

I'm sorry this happened. Finding dirty anything is something we don't take lightly and will make sure to address it with housekeeping. We don't usually service rooms unless staying 3 or more days unless requested anytime during your stay. This is a way to be environmentally friendly.

Asked for a first floor room twice. Did not get At 72 steps too hard to climb

The room we stayed in had the hot and cold water reversed, the shower plug wouldn't fully engage and there was more water pressure left in the bathtub faucet, which ran so hard that the tub stopper would engage and the tub would fill with water while showering. The room seemed to be next to the laundry room which ran all night. There was a lack of outlet plugs near the bed for phone charging as there wasn't a clock in the room. There wasn't even hot coffee available and was only $5.00 less than a room a paid for with a full breafast buffet and indoor pool and hot tub that closed at midnight. The bed felt like it was the same mattress from 1950.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. We do now offer coffee in the lobby as well as the in room coffee that we provide. We don't have full breakfast but in place give out bogo free breakfast cards to our town's local favorite restaurant. We also have maintenance looking into the reversed water faucets. I will also be bringing up the need for additional plugs needed but the night stands to my boss to see if we can get something to help with this.
