The staff are wonderful. Very polite and always try to help. However hotel itself is not quite ready for overseas guests. Took long time to check in (I booked thru Expedia); in-room telephone is for inside hotel use only--couldn't even call within Luoyang; did not inform guests about a fire drill and we walked 11 floors for nothing; no hangers in room, had to ask; nothing to put a suitcase on, had to set the suitcase on floor; no closet; light sensor for bathroom annoying--had to waive for light if on toilet for more than 1 minute; took quite a while for lights to go off after using bathroom in middle of night; bed is a little hard; breakfast buffet entirely designed for Chinese guests. Also, unlike in many other cities, they cannot buy train tickets on behalf of guests even for a fee: we were told to go to train station ourselves with passports. And so on. But the staff are all very nice and very hard-working. I almost feel sorry for low ratings for the hotel but I had to tell other travelers.
