Beautiful home

We have been wanting to spend a few nights up along the North Shore, and (other than the mosquitoes we encountered, which were no joke!) we were not disappointed. The lodge was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed to cook some of our meals at the lodge. If there was anything at all we needed, Jo was so helpful and very quick to respond.
We also appreciate how close we were to so many of the attractions in the area. (Not to mention the North Shore Winery which was literally right around the corner!) Jo suggested driving up to the Canadian border to see the High Falls in Grand Portage. Breathtaking! I highly recommend taking the relatively short drive up there. What made it even more beautiful this time of year were the lupines which were in full bloom!
If we plan another vacation up north we will definitely want to stay in the lodge again.

Nice place for Lutsen trip
Posted Feb. 14, 2024 on HomeAwayThis is the 2nd time we have stayed at Jo and Bob's property. Always clean, welcoming, and has everything we need. Instructions are clear and perfect space for playing games. Location can't be beat for skiing and adventuring to the cidery/winery

Great experience at Lutsen Solitude

Weather caused some travel difficulties for us and communications with Jo were perfect, she was able to allow some flexibility in check-in to help our trip be successful which was unexpected and hugely appreciated. We'll seek out this and other priorities of theirs in future Northern Minnesota adventures. Property at Lutsen was in very good shape and in an awesome location just a few minutes from the ski hill and across the road from the winery which made for a fun visit as well.

Northwoods Getaway

However, it could've been cleaner and the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen are so unorganized and messy that we had to dig around to find things we needed. Also, the kitchen towels and washcloths smell like mildew, and the potholders are dirty and grimey. The kitchen garbage can needs to be washed out too. Some curtains or blinds to cover the glass on the front and back doors would be nice.
All in all, this cabin was very cozy, and we enjoyed our selves. But...I think the cleaning company needs to clean a lot better than they are!

I am happy to hear you enjoyed yourselves Dyanne. I was surprised to see your comments, so many of our most recent reviews, all were 5 stars, mentioned how clean the home was. Our regular cleaner has been out due to surgery so we've had a new crew that may not have been familiar with where things go and didn't look at things like the potholders, I apologize. I have alerted the owner of the cleaning company of the issues you encountered, I can assure you they will be corrected.
