Quiet retreat

Fabulous Cabin and property
Publié le 30 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe stayed for a week, and loved everything about the cabin and the property. They thought of every detail to make the entire space feel like home. Cozy, comfy, clean. The outside space is exquisite - again all detail to hang outside, firepit, chairs by the river, putting greens, horseshoes.
We will go back!!!

The waterfall, the creek, nature trail and a beautiful cozy cabin...there's no reason to leave. The owners have gone out of their way to make your experience at their little slice of heaven unforgettable. I can't wait to return.

Enchanting Lodge

The home was so well put together with extremely comfortable beds to all the decorative details. The porch facing the stream is a great place for morning coffee, and reading at night. You are able to view all the small animals and birds that visit while relaxing. We had great bonfires, and fun trying to catch trout. We enjoyed walks in the woods, and played horse shoes. The hosts are delightful! I had a couple of questions, and they were happy to answer. Their house manager Shar does a wonderful job prepping and ensuring the home is ready for their guests. We would 100% recommend enjoying this wonderful property 😊 Thank you for a wonderful 37th anniversary.

Awesome hidden gem
Publié le 4 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayThis place is a clean 90 year old log cabin that has been restored. Super clean, comfortable, quiet, tastefully decorated with modern appliances. Located on the river, in the woods. Just bring your food, everything is is there, and it is advertised correctly and accurately. Would definitely stay again.

A True Michigan Gem
Publié le 10 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayMy wife and I rolled the dice on Gold Fox Lodge for our Labor Day Weekend escape from the city, and we could not have been happier with the outcome. This camp is truly fantastic in every respect
Communication from our host Jeff was solid right out of the gate - all of our questions/uncertainties were proactively answered in Jeff's very detailed emails. It was a relief to take all the guesswork out of a VRBO trip for once.
The cabin and surrounding property are as 'Pure Michigan' as it gets. I have stayed at camps all over the state and this is among the most unique and beautiful. The fact that this camp is being shared with the public at all is kind of miraculous - most people who are lucky enough to have property like this keep them private, and you can understand why. This is a natural retreat that deserves to be treasured and respected by people who appreciate the setting and want these resources to be protected - hopefully for generations.
As far as amenities, the cabin has just about everything - and it looked gorgeous and welcoming on our arrival. If you are missing something, there is a 'general store' two minutes down the road that has just about everything you could think of. And 'Ma Deeters' restaurant is a great spot for a casual dinner, drinks, or some takeout pizza.
We did the Parmalee-to-Whirlpool tube float down the AuSable courtesy of Rainbow Resort livery, and then came back to camp to grill our steaks and shrimps. Perfect cap to a perfect weekend.
