Hi Lisa, so sorry about the Pub being closed, Apparently all rather last minute, and we were all unaware they were leaving! - but, the good news is, it is now opening again this Friday with lovely new owners!

Beautiful cottage but.......
Publié le 6 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayOn arrival we found the most beautiful cottage setting in lovely gardens which we found were superb.
Interior was lovely and homely.
First night was very disappointing 15 tog duvet all round far too hot
Got in touch with owners regarding summer duvet but they did not respond to direct message until late in the evening via VRBO saying no, so had to purchase our own. Only one bedside table which was inconvenient. Staying for a week so did a full shop to eat in, unfortunately no cupboard to store groceries so items had to be stored over limited worktop space.
Washing machine and dishwasher on together left a nasty stagnant smell from drain in conservatory. Filter in tumble dryer was filthy and needed a thorough clean. Fridge door had mould on outside seal, and we feel that the whole place needed a more thorough clean.
On the day of leaving we received a message from the owner informing us that they will be arriving between 9.00-9.30am to cut the grass, we said no because of the dog in the back garden. This we found very annoying as any work should be done after our 10.00am checkout.
Overall a lovely holiday was had by all, in the New Forest but will not return to April Cottage and would not recommend.

Thank you for your feedback we really do value your comments. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay in the cottage and sorry you found the duvets too warm. We will, of course, look into providing summer duvets. There is a cupboard in the kitchen available for groceries. We have checked the fridge seal for cleanliness but know that the cottage interior is of a high standard and are always very particular about ensuring the cottage is cleaned throughly after every guest. When we contacted you to ask if we could mow the grass earlier than your check out time, it was only because it was our grandchild’s christening but when you said it was inconvenient it was absolutely fine and we waited until you left.
