Great new resort, excellent service

First of all, diving with them is great and the room is pretty good too! That's what the 2 stars are for...
But then it stops. We didn't feel welcome as guests but more felt like a wallet where they want to get as much money out as possible!
It started with the boat transfer. There is only one available at 12:30, our bus arrived at 13:30 so we said we won't be able to join their boat but will try to organize our own transportation. They tried to convince us that it's very difficult and we should rather take a private boat with them for 600 ringit.
In the end it was very easy to get another boat with scuba junky which was even cheaper than the regular boat with Borneo divers.
Second was the food. We booked a room with breakfast. For lunch they wanted to charge us 75 pp and day, for dinner even 100, which is just rediculus for the very small buffet you can get which is not even good.
We then had our meals next door with scuba junky for a decent amount of money...
For the boat back they also wanted to charge us 600 as there "are no other guests checking out that day"... We again went with scuba junky...
We would not come again. The way they treat their guests is just a downer which is not necessary if you pay that much for you accommodation!
And check out time is 09:30 which is not common too...
Better go to scuba junky next door. They welcome you and are treating you as a guest!

Dear Patrick, thank you for your valuable feedback. Thank you too for staying with us, a 4 stars Mabul Island resort at our 50% price discount for our new pre-opening villa rooms with expedia of RM500 per night per villa room (our usual price is RM1000 per night per villa room) with breakfast buffet for 2 persons. As this is only room and breakfast, other arrangement will be subjected to further charge especially the boat transfer from Semporna jetty to Mabul Island which takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour speed boat ride. This is why our private boat transfer has to be charged at RM600 per boat per way due to higher consumption of petrol for our bigger passenger speedboat that uses bigger HP engine. Actually, if you manage to follow our scheduled boat with other paying guests the price will be lower and maybe a little bit higher than scuba junkie only. We suppose that it was not a private boat transfer with scuba junkie too but with other guests on the boat too. Yes, our standard rate is RM75 per person for lunch buffet and RM100 per person for dinner buffet. However, our in-house guests also has an alternative choice of eating at our beach bar too with our ala-carte menu that will be cheaper than our buffet pricing. Finally, we are sorry to hear that you would not come again. However, we would be happy if you could contact us again to let us know how we can make it up to you. We will definitely improve our resort services from your feedback.
