Check in was very good with very friendly and helpful staff. The room needs maintenance, working and connected lamps, one was broken.

Thank you for taking the time to review you stay with us. Also for your constructive feedback. Having recently acquired the Miners Lodge, we are aware that some rooms require renovation. We have commenced a refurbishment plan and will gradually work through each of the rooms. This is something we are looking forward to completing. It is clean and basic. I was put in a room with no parking. The airport is not far away and the noise of the planes was a bit annoying. The office was locked most of the time and I was unable to speak to the staff about any of my issues.

I had a great sleep, bed was good, pillows & blanket good. Aircon was also good and I was happy with the tv. The light in the bathroom didn’t work, also one in the room was out. My curtains were off the track. So the only negative was upkeep needs more attention. For budget accommodation it was good but would have liked to have a shower not in the dark.

It is a very nice motel. The manager was great and helped with all our needs would recommend this motel to all.

Staff were fine, however no blankets for the beds or wifi advice etc until requested next day after a cold night in bed.

It’s a cheap place to stay, but there is a reason it is a cheap place to stay. Probably hasn’t been renovated the 60s, the beds were uncomfortable, and everything was just ever so slightly damp. I actually didn’t take a shower because I didn’t think I would fully dry afterwards and I slept with a towel over my pillow. Plus the whenever an airplane was taking or landing it was very loud.

Hi Misty - Thank you for your review. We try our best to make sure we meet our guests expectations. That being said, this is Mackay, tropical north Queensland. We are currently experiencing an unusually long wet season, where everything feels damp. If you had popped up to reception, I would have advised to turn your air conditioner to dry and it will take the humidity from the air. With regard to the planes, we are not in control of flight paths nor flight schedules. Flight traffic is something that is synonymous with Mackay holiday and private accommodation. The airport is located where it is and we all get flight traffic regardless of where we are located. I am still perplexed. Why didn't you come to reception to let us know you were not happy with your room. We would have relocated you and your group to another or to our sister motel. Hopefully you would have had a better experience.
