You get what you pay for. Cozy motel with vue on lake and bridge. Went for a swim directly from the motel 'beach'. Toom smelled strongly of bleach (it's clean, I guess!) Someone else's towel was still in the washroom. And so many bugs!!! Dozens of flies (from the lake???) A couple of spiders. Nothing bit us but there were tons of them on the ceiling, in washroom? Close to lamps. They should leave a fly swatter in the room. Breakfast was quite basic (oatmeal, toast, bagels) and there was no milk for coffee, just powdered creamer. Not super impressed with the motel but it is what we expected for the price. Ladies at reception were helpful in giving us info abouy town and ferries. Buy your tickets for the ferries from them.

Newly remodeled with pine wood inside rooms and was so strong it gave us headaches. even with windows open all day and night.

Thank you for your feedback, Last time you stayed you complained the rooms smelled musty and needed to be remodeled so we spent the winter remodeling them so you would have a brand new room to return to. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Mackinaw

Other than another couple getting a key to our room. It was a great stay.

No refrigerator!! Tv remote barely works, ran out of toilet paper, access to ice was inconvenient, staff was rude and condescending when we told her no fridge and when they preapproved my debit card without consent (resulting in bouncing my bank acc) when I booked this room on Expedia it gave us a option to pay on arrival

Sounds like you decided to focus on the little things. You forgot to mention the upgrade to a newly remodeled room. The policy that ALL cards are preauthorized prior to arrival to guarantee your reservation. You also never mentioned not having a fridge otherwise we would have gladly provided one for you. You demanded discounts because you had poor planning with your finances. Sounds like a stay at the Red Roof Inn would be more towards your liking. Hope you enjoyed your time and welcome to Mackinaw!

Went to stay here for 2 nights. Arrived late at night and they left the key in the mailbox. Went into room and there was cob webs in every corner, I had to kill 9 giant spiders (seen in pictures) I used a coat handed to twirl up the cob webs. There was tissue stuffed in the window a/c unit (fully view of the outside/draft). The shower didn’t drain. Tried to go to office to talk to and no one was there. Called multiple times to get a different room no one answered. It was late so we had to stay the one night. I was in the phone with Expedia trying to cancel tomorrows night cause we couldn’t stay another night in these conditions. In the morning, was told I need to go to management to get a refund for the following night. And I had to drive to different hotels with a sign on the door saying go to this location, once you got to that location had to go to the other location. Once arrived had to wait for someone to arrive and she was extremely unprofessional and rude. Not to be mean but she was straight “white trash” and Her face was wrinkled up and stuck up not to because she already knew she wasn’t going to accommodate her guest and said you need to cancel 3 days prior to your stay. How were we suppose to know the room was going to be this poor of condition and then can’t cancel the following night. Total scam to have a policy in place that you need to cancel 3 days prior when you can see the condition of the room until you get there. The pictures are false advertising.

Awesome view of the bridge. Being right on the water was exactly why i chose this location. The price was very budget friendly for our quick overnight stay.
