Bon accueil et petit déjeuner décevant

Pour : La situation pratique pour visiter le centre
Nous avons aimé le personnel à l'accueil, très avenant et serviable. Par contre le personnel s'occupant du petit déjeuner n'est vraiment pas à la hauteur, lent, distrait et pas du tout à l'écoute de nos besoins.

A bit cramped but for exploring Funchal the location is excellent- we booked a room with a double bed and got a room with two singles which spoilt our arrival but we got a double bed the next night after contacting Expedia. Breakfast was nothing to write home about but it sufficed

Great Location, Great Value.

OK its not your usual Luxury Maderia Hotel just a 2/3 star B and B in a great Town Center Location. The included breakfast was basic, but the Bread Rolls were excellent. The local area was traditional mainly street side Restaurants but with excellent Fish Dishes for half the price of the nearby Classier Restaurants, seems the closer you get to the harbour the more expensive it becomes, it suited me travelling alone.Again the Local Portugese wine was very enjoyable both price-wise and who can complain with Drambuie at $4 to end a meal. That was after my complimetary Maderia Desert Wine. Whilst this property may not be for everyone it was ideal for me for a few days break.

"Vanhusten" hotelli

Pieni hotelli aivan keskellä Funchalin vanhaa kaupunkia. Etäisyys melkein kaikkiin kaupungin nähtävyyksiin alle 500m ja runsaasti kahvila- ja ruokailupaikkoja lähellä! Isot, korkeat huoneet pidettiin hyvin siisteinä, henkilökunta yleensäkin hyvää. Aamiainen oli heikohko, pari sämpylää,yksi kinkku/juusto per henkilö ja kahvi tai tee....

Rooms were very clran

The hotel is in a really good location. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very clean. The only downfall is that the rooms are really hot, so we were unable to sleep very well.

cheap and insufficient

I stayed in this hotel two times within 5 days in 8/ 2016. The first time I had a tiny room. It was very dirty when I got there. There was hair on dirt in the bathroom all over the floor. So I told them. A woman came to clean; afterwards the hair and dirt were in a different corner. But at least the room had a window. Other people in my group didn't have any window! I found the staff quite impolite. Once I was asked not to speak Spanish to them, but English/French. I don't think that is adequate for hotel personnel. Breakfast officially starts at 8am. Once I and 4 other people were there at 8 am. The person who was in charge of breakfast arrived with two shopping bags at 8:10 am. The first guest was served at 8:15am. I couldn't eat breakfast that day because I had to leave at 8:25 am. Anyway, breakfast is poor, the ham gross. As I had heard of rooms without a window (and non-existent air-conditioning)I had specifically asked for a room with a window for the last night. First I was told there was no room left. I said I'd like to cancel the night if my room didn't have a window. When I mentioned cancellation, they DID find a room with a window after a few seconds. Unfortunately, when I got there the second time, I couldn't open the door to my room. I went downstairs to the reception desk and told them. The woman there was not happy about that and said it was easy to open it. It turned out the door had been locked by the maid with a key I didn't have.

Hotel in zentraler Lage

Pour : Die Lage
Contre : Das Frühstück
Emplacement : Zentral, Innen-/Altstadt... alles zu Fuß erreichbar, Mietwagen muss in eine der nahen Parkgaragen ! (ab 5,80/Tag)
Lage super, Zimmer OK und sauber, Schwachpunkt ist das Frühstück (frisches Gebäck nur jeden 2. Tag, jeden Tag der selbe Schinken/Käse/Marmelade/Butter....Kaffee=braunes Getränk - das hält man 2 Wochen lang fast nicht aus)

Hotel razoável para o que se propõe .

Foi-me dito que de madrugada,quando saisse para o aeroporto, o taxi subiria ao hotel. Eu estava com muitas dores e não poderia carregar a bagagem. Tudo bem, esperei no hotel e lá estava um senhor sonolento e mal educado que disse que o taxi já estava vindo e que eu deveria levar as bagagens para baixo, na esquina, ainda com chuva. Praticamente me expulsou do hotel, pois queria dormir. O chofer disse-me depois que muitas pessoas reclamam desse senhor. Quanto ao resto, tudo bem. As senhoras da portaria é que me deram esperanças daquilo que não aconteceu.
