Clean and Cozy

I had a very nice stay at the hummingbird suite. My friend and I were very comfortable and enjoyed the space. And I got to bring my dog along which was a bonus. Very nice hosts!

Very disappointing stay

Outside - yard not cared for, lots of construction junk lying around...not a good first impression. Never did see the owners of the house. but I think they lived upstairs. Inside - very small bed; half the long wall was covered in plastic where all the electrical was.

Hi Betty and Ron, yes we are doing renovations which I mentioned in my initial message to you which has been delayed this summer due to covid material shortages. It was all supposed to be done in June but we kept having to wait for materials at various times. We have tried to always message guests ahead of time to let them know and everyone else has been pretty understanding of the situation, your the first to really make it a big deal. There is a small corner with plastic covering the wall until we can get the materials to finish it but we have tried our best to keep it covered up and put plants in front. The bed is a double sized bed so while not a Queen we never advertised it as such. I wish you the best and am really sorry you had a bad impression of our space, if there's anything I can do to make it up please let me know.

Rocky Start/ Fine Place

I criticize VRBO for not informing me of the address and the contact number of the host, expecting me to be able to access information by mobile phone which I do not own. I had to phone the tourist info to even know the location of the accommodation, and when you did give me an address there was no way to contact the owner. Consequently we arrived at the check in time of 4PM to find no-one there. We waited til 7pm and returned home, a 45 min drive only to find the instructions in an email sent last minute the evening before. This assumes that I live with a mobile phone or computer attached to me! That being said the Hummingbird Suite was excellent with thoughtful touches and we enjoyed our stay. The owner was considerate to refund 1 nights stay and I am grateful. If I was him I would not list my property with VRBO. You are remiss in handling bookings.
