Loved the horse riding. The property would be a great family weekend away. Simple but had so many things to do. Bikes. Swimming.

This is a beautiful, well maintained and expertly furnished property. There are so many places, including the pool area, to sit, relax and listen to and watch the wildlife. It is set in wonderful grounds and extensive countryside with amazing views.
We had breakfast daily which was plentiful and tasty and the service from staff was excellent throughout our stay.
We did not ride, but if you are a horse rider this is a great place to stay.
The nearby town of Madison (about a 15 min car journey) is delightful with a good selection of shops and restaurants and has an old town charm.

Just for riding horses, not a hotel to stay in.

Hi Patricia - We are delighted that you appreciated the grounds and cleanliness and hopefully had a chance to enjoy the complimentary soft drinks, game room or bikes. However, we are disappointed it didn't meet all of your expectations. Your guest room featured brand new furniture, mattress, bedding and carpeting. We would like to share with all that we are a guest ranch / dude ranch on a horse farm. Indeed, it is great if you are riding, but can be also be great to visit and/or observe the horses even of you are not riding. It is quite different than your average hotel. We strive for everyone to have a great stay!

We LOVED our time at Southern Cross Guest Ranch. The property was charming. The staff was super friendly. The horses were beautiful. Our room was large, beautiful and a perfect place to enjoy our anniversary.

Loved this place. Heaven on earth!! Staff and everyone was so nice! The horses were so sweet. Not rough at all. Our room was beautiful. Perfect place to visit.
