A peaceful retreat.
We had a lovely welcome on arrival with some thai tea whilst we checked in. We stayed in one of the suites which was very clean, spacious and well decorated. The bathroom had a spa like feel and the toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and soap) all contained in little pottery bottles were divine. We stayed for 4 nights and ate in the restaurant twice in the evening - for which there was a good choice of meals and not too expensive. We had breakfast each morning which again had a good choice and you were not limited to just choosing one item. Until the 4th night we were the only guests staying there so there wasn't much else going on at the hotel - not that that bothered us as we went out each day anyway. The pool was nice and big but it hadn't been that well maintained when we used it as the floor of the pool was slimey. We were staying slightly out of season but even so it should have been ready for use. We also had an issue one night with flying termites getting into our bathroom. We did report it and actually moved rooms but I don't think anything was done about sealing the gap in the light or roof where they were getting in as other guests were put in our room the next night! I would warn anyone with mobility issues that there are a lot of steps everywhere - long flight up to the reception, stairs up to the restaurant/bar and stairs up to the rooms - so maybe think twice about staying here if mobility is an issue.
