Lovely hotel but look out for hidden charges.
Publié le 22 avr. 2024 sur HotelsIt is a beautiful luxurious hotel with a superb spa. Rooms were nice and bedding very comfortable.
Grey's restaurant food is average and very limited choice and overhyped but breakfast was excellent.
The biggest surprise on checking out was that they charged 10% service charge on the whole bill including the room charge that was prepaid on Hotels.com. There was no warning and left a bitter taste.

Nice hotel, bitter ending

However, after paying £450/night for a 2-night stay at this hotel it left a real bitter taste to be presented with a bill for an additional 10% service charge for our stay. This is a distasteful Americanism and profiteering.
What are guests paying £450/night for if not the 5-star service?!

The service charge is of course discretionary and can be amended to any amount you see fit or removed entirely. The service charge is split evenly between the whole team, as we believe it takes the team to deliver the Whatley experience. The nightly rate reflects our product price.
