Cozy Waterfront Lake Home on Nolin Lake & Close to Mammoth Cave

This cozy lakefront home is ideal for a quiet, relaxing getaway, a small family vacation, or a weekend with friends. The perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck before heading out to the lake for the day or seeing several nearby attractions, including Mammoth Cave, the National Corvette Museum, Bourbon Trail, Nolin State Park, and more. Swimming, boating, fishing, paddle boarding, canoeing, and kayaking are perfect activities here.

This 2 bedroom, 2 bath fully renovated mobile home has all of the amenities of a home to help you enjoy a relaxing vacation. It sleeps up to 6 adults, with a pull-out sofa bed in the living room to provide extra sleeping space. You can enjoy amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, Wifi, and smart TV. The kitchen is well stocked with a with cookware, utensils, dishes, coffee maker, ice maker, and more.

This lake home is 5 miles from Nolin Lake State Park and beach and hiking trails, 10 min from Blue Holler mud and 4-wheeler trails, 30 min from Mammoth Cave, and 30 min from Beech Bend amusement park. The neighborhood has a community boat ramp about 1/2 mile away where you can launch and recover your boat easily and a couple of marinas on the lake.

This is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet getaway without the busyness of the city! In case you forget something, there are several local mini markets (Webb’s and Sailings) close by and a Dollar General Market about 10 minutes (5 miles) away. One of the local Amish stores has amazing donuts on Saturday mornings and a Walmart is just 30 minutes away in Leitchfield.

Please be advised the US Corps of Engineers own Nolin Lake and is used for flood control. Lake access is best during the summer as the Corps lowers the lake (25 to 30 feet) starting late October. Due to flood control aspects of the lake, the walk up and down to the water is steep, and some guests might find it difficult. Winter pool is 25-30 feet below summer pool. Which makes the lake inaccessible during winter months. During rainy seasons the lake has been known to go 25 ft above summer pool. Also making the lake hard to access. We try very hard to keep the access to the lake available but sometimes the levels change drastically and are hard to keep up. We do the best we can. The water levels can be checked at the Nolin River website.

Owners reside next door and the property has exterior security cameras.

The Raleighs place
I enjoyed swimming off their dock. The water was clear, cool and clean. My husband enjoyed fishing off the dock too. We saw deer walking by lots of birds singing. It’s a beautiful place to stay.

Mammoth Cave 2024
The property is fantastic. It is so cute and cozy. Being right on the lake was a bonus as we spent hours just sitting on the deck listening to the birds and relaxing. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed - it was just like being at home. The neighborhood is quiet and the few people we met were nice. We really appreciated the gates on the deck so we could let our dogs roam freely as we relaxed.

Nice, but not lakefront
Clean, spacious and well maintained double wide trailer home that is on a hillside near Nolin Lake. Roughly 7 flights of stairs to get to the lake (I think I counted 92 steps), and the kayaks (owners charge to rent) were located at the home instead of the dock. Same with the life vests and other assorted floatables.

Trailer by the lake
Comfortable trailer by the lake and 45 minutes to Mammouth Cave. The unit is very clean and comfortable. The area is beautiful. Hosts were very responsive. I do think it is quite pricey for the area and being a trailer.

Home far from home
This place is better than described. It’s cozy and has anything you need for a getaway besides shower supplies. Close to the Mammoth Cave National Park: take the ferry route, is just 20 minutes. We had the chance to see the fireflies just from the deck. It’s lake access, and also this place has copious water gears, including kayaks. Corlynn and Joe are wonderful people, very helpful.

Idyllic Appalachian lake get-away
Western Kentucky has old memories for our family and being able to stay at this incredibly well furnished cozy home allowed much magic to unfold. Everything was so comfortable, and the kitchen was a dream. Basics already stocked, and the ice maker was a wonderful surprise! My daughter slept on the dock to watch the stars at night, and we all deeply enjoyed the spot of forested earth that the property occupies.

We enjoyed our stay! The house was very comfortable. We especially appreciated the large living room and the well-stocked kitchen. The drive to Mammoth Cave was not bad at all. If we return to this area, we'd definitely stay at this house again.

This was a lovely getaway on a lake! It was welcoming and clean - a home away from home. Would highly recommend if you want to be in the Mammoth Cave area. The hosts were very attentive but totally unobtrusive. Would rate this a 5 out of 5!

A Perfect Weekend!
We loved our time at the Raleigh Retreat. It was quiet and peaceful and perfect! Our Australian friends were enamored with the countryside of KY ... including the bald eagle that perched right in front of them off of the back porch! Their encounters with the local residents and business owners were all helpful, welcoming, warm ... simply charming. They will have lots of wonderful 'country' experiences to share with their friends upon their return to AUS ... which is one of their goals for this visit to the USA. We will certainly keep this place in mind next time we need a restful weekend or have visitors from other countries. It was a delightful weekend.

A Perfect Getaway
We were delighted with our stay in Mammoth Cave. After a busy day of cave experiences, it was delightful to come back to a beautiful, warm, relaxing environment. The home is exactly as described. Beautiful view in quiet neighborhood. Great location for mammoth cave adventures
Overall our stay was great. Only one thing to know is that water levels are low in the spring and my son couldn’t fish off the dock as he had hoped but that was no fault of owners. We had a great stay. House had everything we needed.

Wonderful Hosts and a beautiful view
We loved the Raleigh Retreat - it was a perfect place for us and our dog! Comfortable living room and bedrooms and a well stocked kitchen - this place has everything you need to have a great time at the lake. We spent time in Mammoth Caves and Nolin State park and the house was perfect to come back to every day. We'll definitely would recommend this property and hope to come back in the summer when hanging outside and water sports are in full swing. The hosts were so friendly and we enjoyed talking with them. If we had any needs they were on it. Thank you!

Lovely lakeside stay
Talk about a home away from home experience! Our stay was so relaxing and perfectly located. The owners were fabulous (and so friendly) and communicated wonderfully.We had zero questions upon our arrival and our departure. We visited Mammoth Cave, but there was so much more we could have done in the area. It was a great experience.
