Very calm place but noisy Ac (stabiliser) and Fan
Publié le 22 août 2015 sur ExpediaFirst I would like to start with the positives,it has a very big Room,decent size shelves,TV with Dth,decent size bathroom and a independent geezer.
Here comes the face squeezing negatives
If your a car lover,you have to think number of times to get down to their place,the narrow passage has lots of big stone, which give your tyres a hard time, no covered car park,what ever we ask to security staff he will say immediately a big noo,reception staff are good,
now to the room,since I have shared the positives,now the negatives in the Room, beds are two single beds,which has to joined and a gap will be formed in the middle which will make you uncomfortable for the middle person especially my kid,the bed is like rock hard (concrete cement)pillow has to be searched (it's really thin),
Coming to Ac:Ac chillness is very good,but they have very particular stabiliser, which works only for a 1 min and reboots every 10min,which makes that 9 min uncomfortable,when the night progress the stabiliser makes really funny sound,which has no words to define.
Pathetic stabiliser or some cunning tricks deployed by management for saving power
Now towards fan:since Ac was a disaster we tried the fan,there are two fans which is very clean but no use,since the beds have been merged, fans have come to the edge,
Once the night progress the fan has become like a wet grinder , daka daka daka,and no speed as well,it was midnight, we stopped all the fans then nature gave us temp, calm and decent sleep

Our stay at ktdc tamarind hotel was good, comfortable. Staff was very courteous and helpful. food was Very tasty and homely.

Publié le 9 janv. 2013 sur HotelsFriendly, knowledgable staff make connecting to sights and experiences easy. Meals are well prepared although the menu is a bit limited. No complaints. Some descriptions of nearby sights in English would be helpful to guests as English as spoken by Indians may not be easily understood. Escapees from winter long for a pleasant place to sit outside, none exists but there are opportunities.

Pour : Good friendly staff; decent food
Contre : The approach road off the Thirunelly road. Also, housekeeping doesn't seem to clean the room or provide fresh towels if you stay for over a day.
Emplacement : It's just about a km and a half outside the town of Thirunelly. But since it is inside the forest, you definitely need to have your own transportation
Booked 2 AC rooms at Tamarind Thirunelly through Expedia. The rates offered by Expedia were cheaper than even the official KTDC website.
The rooms were fairly decent, but could have been cleaner - we found a couple of roaches in one of the rooms. There were some electrical problems due to which the air-conditioner stopped running in one of the rooms in the middle of the night. The staff though was very friendly and helpful; and offered an alternate room for the next day.
Food options were pretty limited; but we liked what was served. You need to order your food around 3-4 hours prior to dinner time. Breakfast had a fixed menu, but was delicious. It was a pleasant surprise to get such good food in a KTDC hotel.
There is not much of a view to speak of from any of the rooms; but the rooms are spacious and you get hot water in the bathrooms.
On the whole, it is good value for money.

Contre : Nothing.. May be its a little inside the city & a proper sitting area where u can enjoy the nature around..
Emplacement : Its a little inside on the Thirunelly rd.About 13 km fm the main road..Better to reach the hotel before night as you may find wild animals on the way.
Amazing food & excellent staff. When I booked it I never expected anything of this from a government venture. All the staffs in this hotel are very friendly & the food is awesome. I love it.. Will recommend this for anyone & will visit there again just because of them.
