It’s a Motel not a resort

My wife and I selected Palmer House based on the photos on VRBO. Upon driving the property towards our room we suddenly realized things looked different. Upon entering the room we noticed a distinct smell. The bathroom shown online looks very nice and updated with a beautiful shower, white cabinets and looked very modern. Ours was nothing like that. We had a tan handicap tub, urine stained tiles, a counter and sink that looked very old, and old brown cabinets. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed, especially for the price we were paying. We immediately contacted Jackie who checked us in to report our displeasure. She was kind through the conversation and directed us to contact VRBO for a resolution. We were able to cancel our 2nd night stay and a discount was given for the 1st night. This is an old motel, not a resort and if we would have seen the same photos of our actual bathroom and exterior of the property where our room was, we would not have booked this reservation. When choosing a room they show you the same pictures for each available unit so it was a surprise to get the room we had. When I asked Jackie why our room looked so different she stated they hardly had any rooms that looked like what was advertised. Makes me wonder if there is only one room that looks like what was advertised. We had to show proof and send pictures to VRBO to prove our point. In conclusion, I wouldn’t recommend Palmer House.
