great family reunion

Publié le 28 août 2022 sur HomeAway
After a family wedding off site we had a family reunion at the RR Ranch. A very quiet isolated location. This helped us catch up with family members - there were little distractions except for sightings of wildlife. Top notch amenities, well equipped kitchen, plus three large gathering areas. We used the fireplace for extra family ambience. We took several hikes around the property as well as in National Forest surrounding the property. If you want peace and quiet this is the place. I had good communication with the people involved with this facility. I would recomend this to my friends and their families.

Staying in the Mountain

Publié le 24 juill. 2022 sur HomeAway
I stayed at the Lodge with a total of 14 people. The Lodge was beautiful with a gorgeous view and did have everything you would ever need. The downfall was it took 30 minutes to get there, and the last section of the road was dirt and rocky. The Lodge ran on solar power that didn't hold the charge and we lost power 2x. Robert did start the generator so we would have electricity. He told us were using too much electricity and needed to shut the lights off more and not use the dryer. We were supposed to hang out our laundry on the clothesline. The basement has 2 bedrooms, and the temp down there ran 55-58 degrees and never got warmer. The 4 bedrooms upstairs all had a loft and their own bathrooms and deck that were amazing. The master bedroom and bathroom were also very nice. Hopefully they will be able to fix these issues because this is truly a beautiful place.

Lorie and her group ended up at the wrong place. They should have stayed in a town or city with paved roads and rented rooms at a Comfort Inn with a coin operated laundry and unlimited Internet access. The Lodge they rented is in a very remote wilderness location. It relies on well water, solar energy and a dish antenna for the Internet. As unbelievable as it sounds, they arrived with three large duffle bags of dirty laundry for a five day stay and proceeded to ignore our appeal to use the clothesline for drying clothes to conserve electricity. We offered to take their laundry to a local “wash and fold”, and happily pay for it, but they demurred. Regrettably, they ran out of electricity in three hours and we put them on 24/7 generator support. We provided an additional 50 GB of Internet usage on the day of their arrival (added owner expense of $150). According to HughesNet, the provider, a month of 45 GB of data is “Ideal for today's connected household with multiple devices and a large appetite for data.” They used up the entire allotment in 36 hours! I was staying on the same property in an unheated log house. Every night my group slept with all the windows open so our morning temperature was the same as it was outside --53 degrees. We all slept soundly and noone complained. We have rented this Lodge to 11 groups through Airbnb over the past 2+ years and received "5" ratings from all of them. We plan to change the listing to show just 5 bedrooms and a maximum of 10 guests. This will hopefully adjust down the expectations of future VRBO guests

Exceeded all expectations

Just ended a great stay in the lodge and did not want to leave. This was a family trip for the guys and we all love the outdoors. The Double R Ranch had everything that we were looking for in a base camp. The lodge has the feel of a rustic mountain cabin with all the conveniences of home. The kitchen was well-equipped and the cooks in our group took full advantage of those amenities. A few highlights: star-gazing and a meteor shower, amazing views, afternoon thunderstorms for a good nap, elk herd in the meadow at first light, mule deer visiting in the evening, fishing at Mancos State Park, hiking trailheads at Transfer Campground, off-road adventures, creating family memories. We plan to return with wives and daughters. Thanks!!

Awesome Secluded Property

Gorgeous property way up in the mountains with amazing views. We went with a group of friends and it was perfect for our huge group. The property was very clean and seemed new. We stayed there to do some UTV riding and this had perfect access to the trails. No trailering was needed from here. There are lots of beautiful trails to ride on close by. The property owner and staff were great and helped us with our every need. We will definitely be staying here again if we come back to Mancos.
